Sand Shape Level 10 Walkthrough
Sand Shape Level 10 is a 24-cell board with two interior notches and eight matching L triominoes. Ignore the rejected red-hatched preview, then solve the board in the eight accepted placements shown in the walkthrough.
Board Notes
- Layout
- The playable cells fit a 6-row by 5-column box: row 1 ends at column 4, row 2 omits column 3, row 3 spans columns 2-5, row 4 omits column 3, row 5 is full, and row 6 starts at column 2. The Shape Guide shows a three-cell L.
- Goal
- Partition the 24 cells into eight L triominoes: pink upper-left `r1c1`, `r1c2`, `r2c1`; orange `r1c3`, `r1c4`, `r2c4`; pink center `r2c2`, `r3c2`, `r3c3`; yellow `r3c4`, `r3c5`, `r4c5`; purple `r4c1`, `r4c2`, `r5c1`; turquoise `r4c4`, `r5c3`, `r5c4`; blue `r5c2`, `r6c2`, `r6c3`; and green `r5c5`, `r6c4`, `r6c5`.
- Opening
- The video first rejects a red-hatched attempt. On the clean run, fill the upper-left pink L, then the orange and center pink Ls before working down through yellow, purple, turquoise, blue, and green.
- Danger Zone
- There are two missing cells at `r2c3` and `r4c3`; never use them as if the board were rectangular. Also keep the two pink Ls as separate regions even though they share the same color.
- Mechanics
- The Shape Guide shows a three-cell L that can rotate. The video visibly shows one rejected red-hatched preview, then eight accepted L placements and the completed board; it does not prove whether the rejection costs a life.
Quick Tips for Sand Shape Level 10 (spoiler-free)
- Mark the two holes first: `r2c3` and `r4c3` are outside the playable board and cannot be part of any region.
- There are two separate pink Ls. Finish the upper-left pink group before using the second pink group around `r2c2`-`r3c3`.
- Think in chain clears. The best move is the one that sets up the next two moves, not just the quickest current match.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Trying to fill `r2c3` or `r4c3`; both are holes in the board, not available cells.
- Merging the two pink placements into one larger region; each accepted region must contain exactly three cells in an L.
- Treating the rejected red-hatched preview as part of the final move count; the completed solution has eight accepted placements.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many L regions are in Sand Shape Level 10?
There are eight accepted three-cell L regions. Two of them are pink but remain separate regions on the board.
Are `r2c3` and `r4c3` usable cells?
No. They are the two visible holes in the 6x5 bounding box and must remain empty throughout the solution.
