How to Solve Colony Flow! Level 178 — Full Solution
- Tap the first blue-purple stack and follow its 18 / 15 / 8 / 2 descent, leaving all gray ? cards untouched while the outer corners are occupied.
- Take brown-red 6 and 4 when the route opens, then the next brown 10 / 16 groups; wait for the ants to cross the lower hole before opening another brown lane.
- Clear pale-yellow 12 / 4 and yellow 10 / 16 to remove the gold crescent and expose more of the white-framed interior. Leave one buffer for cyan.
- Start cyan 7 and 15, then take the visible cyan 20 cards one at a time. The target should change into a cyan disc with a dark right edge.
- Recheck the newly unlocked cells and select only readable red-brown or pale-cyan cards. Never treat a gray ? by position as an available count.
- Continue cyan through the visible 19 / 20 and 11 / 6 counters, waiting for the first train to clear the hole before opening a neighboring cyan stack.
- Clear yellow 19, dark 16, and white 2 around the right and lower outline; the emblem should now be a cyan center, dark hook, and a few white pixels.
- Finish the late row of white 1, cyan 14, yellow 3, red-brown 1, and blue 20, then take dark 8, cyan 3, and blue 3 and wait for Victory.
Colors in this level:
Blue, Purple, Cyan, Yellow, Orange, Brown, Red, White
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Tapping a gray ? lock or large cyan 20 before blue-purple, brown-red, and yellow have opened the outer route.
- Filling all five buffers during the cyan interior phase, leaving no space for the dark 16, white 2, or late small cards.
- Stopping when the yellow ring or cyan disc looks cleared while the dark right hook and white highlights are still moving.
Quick Tips for Colony Flow! Level 178 (spoiler-free)
- Use blue-purple 18 / 15 / 8 / 2, then brown-red 6 / 4 and pale-yellow 12 / 4 before touching the large cyan 20 groups.
- A visible ? is a route warning; keep one buffer free and clear the currently exposed outer color instead of guessing at the lock.
- The cyan disc and dark right outline are not complete until the late dark 8, cyan 3, and blue 3 cards have reached the hole.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- The white-framed board contains a circular blue-purple emblem with a yellow-gold crescent and band around a cyan center, plus a dark purple right and lower outline. Five white buffer pads start above the grid and one brown hole sits below. Gray lock cards marked ? cover many starting cells; readable queues include blue-purple 10, orange 20, brown-red 16 / 10, pale yellow 18, and cyan 20 groups.
- Goal
- Blue-purple clears the outside edge, brown-red and yellow remove the band and crescent, cyan clears the circular center, and dark and white cards finish the right-hand outline and highlights. The gray ? cells become readable only as neighboring routes open.
- Opening
- Start with the blue-purple route, whose visible counters fall through 18, 15, 8, and 2. Follow with brown-red 6 / 4 and pale-yellow 12 / 4, then yellow 10 / 16; only after those outer lanes move should cyan 7 / 15 / 20 traffic enter.
- Danger Zone
- Do not tap gray ? locks or a large cyan 20 before the blue, brown, and yellow routes have opened them. Filling all five buffers with cyan cards can block the shared hole and leave the dark right outline stranded.
- Mechanics
- Gray ? cells are staged locks, not playable color stacks. The solve progresses from blue-purple perimeter to brown-red and yellow ring, then cyan interior, dark hook-like outline, and tiny white highlights; the last visible cards are dark 8, cyan 3, and blue 3.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do the gray ? cards mean on Level 178?
They are locked visual cells, not unknown counts to guess. Keep clearing the exposed blue-purple, brown-red, yellow, and cyan routes; the cells become readable as their neighbors open.
When is cyan safe to enter?
After blue-purple 18 / 15 / 8 / 2 and brown-red 6 / 4 plus pale-yellow 12 / 4 have opened the ring. Then use cyan 7 / 15 / 20 in measured waves with a buffer free.
Which cards finish the circular emblem?
The late sequence includes white 1, cyan 14, yellow 3, red-brown 1, blue 20, followed by dark 8, cyan 3, and blue 3. Wait for their travel animation before Victory.
