Magic Sort Level 406 Walkthrough

hard Target: 42 moves 8 colors

Magic Sort Level 406 is a four-box vault board with no other gimmicks. Crack the red, blue and cyan boxes in order off the bottom-middle red-blue-cyan mixer, then crack the pink box off the bottom-right pink-yellow-cyan mixer, and use the four new single-color bottles plus the two short empties to drain the tall green-yellow-orange-cyan and pink-yellow-cyan mixers.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 406 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the red top of the bottom-middle red-blue-cyan mixer into the top-left red box, cracking the box and revealing its stored color as a fresh single-color bottle.
  2. Pour the now-exposed blue top of the same mixer into the top-right blue box, cracking that box and banking a second single-color bottle next to the red one.
  3. Pour the cyan top of the bottom-middle mixer into the bottom-right cyan box, cracking the third box and leaving the bottom-middle mixer as a single short buffer.
  4. Pour the pink top of the bottom-right pink-yellow-cyan mixer into the bottom-left pink box, cracking the last wooden box and giving the board four new single-color bottles.
  5. Drain the four-color green-yellow-orange-cyan mixer top-first into the new single-color bottles and the two short empties, peeling green, yellow, orange and cyan each onto their own lane.
  6. Drain the bottom-right pink-yellow-cyan mixer top-first, sending pink, yellow and the cyan tail onto their own lanes until that mixer empties and joins the workshop.
  7. Top off red, blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange, pink and the four box-stored colors so every bottle finishes on a single color.

Colors in this level:

Red, Blue, Cyan, Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Lavender

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring a bottom segment off the red-blue-cyan mixer before the matching top box is open, burning the only trigger for that box.
  • Landing red, blue or cyan into the same short empty twice, which strands the buffer as a two-color mix just when the next box needs that shuttle.
  • Touching the pink-yellow-cyan mixer before the red, blue and cyan boxes are cracked, so the pink trigger has nowhere safe to land.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 406 (spoiler-free)

  • Crack the red, blue and cyan boxes in that order from the bottom-middle mixer before touching the bottom-right pink-yellow-cyan stack.
  • Keep the two short empties in the box section as one-shot shuttles, one color at a time.
  • Use the four box-released single-color bottles as homes for the matching colors once the boxes are open.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
A tall two-tier board with a 2x3 box section on top and a single row of three tall mixers below. The box section is two rows of three — top-left red-box, top-middle short empty dark flask, top-right blue-box, bottom-left pink-box, bottom-middle short empty dark flask, bottom-right cyan-box. The bottom row is a four-color green-yellow-orange-cyan mixer on the left, a three-color red-blue-cyan mixer in the middle, and a three-color pink-yellow-cyan mixer on the right. Four wooden boxes plus two short empties is the entire workshop, and there are no wraps, corks or magic bottles.
Goal
Crack all four wooden boxes in the right order so the board gains four fresh single-color bottles, then drain the three bottom mixers into those bottles and the two short empties. The real bottleneck is the bottom-middle red-blue-cyan stack, which is the only mixer that carries the red, blue and cyan trigger colors for three of the four boxes.
Opening
Pour the red top of the bottom-middle red-blue-cyan mixer into the top-left red box to crack it. Pour the now-exposed blue top of the same mixer into the top-right blue box to crack that one. Pour the cyan top of the bottom-middle mixer into the bottom-right cyan box to crack the third box. Then pour the pink top of the bottom-right pink-yellow-cyan mixer into the bottom-left pink box to crack the last box.
Danger Zone
The bottom-middle red-blue-cyan mixer is the trap. Pour any bottom segment off it before the matching top box is open and you burn the only trigger for that box. Also never land red, blue or cyan into the same short empty twice — that turns the buffer into a two-color mix and you lose the shuttle you need to crack the next box.
Mechanics
A four-box vault reveal on a tidy two-tier board. The boxes crack on the trigger color and release a stored color that differs from the cork, so each unlock banks a new single-color bottle for the rest of the sort. Everything else is standard top-segment sorting.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do the four wooden boxes work in Magic Sort Level 406?

Each box has a colored cork on top — red, blue, pink and cyan. Pour the matching color onto the box to crack it, and the box breaks to reveal a single-color bottle underneath. The released color is different from the cork color, so each unlock banks a new single-color bottle for the rest of the sort.

  • Why crack the bottom-middle mixer first in Level 406?

It is the only mixer that carries the red, blue and cyan trigger colors for three of the four boxes. Cracking those three boxes first frees the short empties and the unlocked bottles to receive the pink-yellow-cyan and green-yellow-orange-cyan mixers without stranding any color.
