What is Magic Sort?

Magic Sort is a potion-bottle color-sorting puzzle developed by Grand Games A.S. and available on iOS and Android. Each board is a set of bottles holding layered colors, and the goal is to pour and regroup every color into a single bottle of its own without wasting a spare flask too early. The opening levels are close to tutorial-plain: Level 1 teaches the rule that a nearly finished bottle is worth locking in before anything else is touched, and Level 25 introduces a color split across two separate bottles that has to be reunited before the rest of the board can move.

The difficulty ramps quickly after that. Of the 442 levels LevelSolve currently covers, 15 are rated easy, 61 medium, 202 hard, and 164 expert, and the toughest concentration sits at levels 43 through 112, a 70-level run where every single level is rated expert. From there the game keeps adding new obstacles rather than just more colors: corked bottles that only pop when the specific color they are keyed to is poured onto the cap, appearing six at a time by Level 221; locked wooden vault boxes that work the same way with colored padlocks and sometimes chain together, as in Level 442's green-then-pink pair; theater curtains that hide extra bottles until enough empty slots exist to trigger a reveal, seen in Level 331; and corked gift boxes that pop on any pour but conceal a multi-color bottle underneath, introduced by Level 400.

How to Play Magic Sort

These tips apply across all Magic Sort levels. For level-specific advice, open any walkthrough from the range browser above.

• Only pour a color onto a corked bottle if it matches the cap's key color. Corks release whatever sits underneath once the right color lands, but a mismatched pour is a wasted move.
• Treat question-mark mystery bottles as reserved overflow for a single troublesome color, not general parking space. Once a mystery bottle holds one color, pouring in a second color locks it into a two-color stack that blocks the rest of the board.
• When two locked wooden vault boxes appear on the same board, work out which one already has its key color sitting in an open bottle. That box has to crack first, because it usually releases the only key the other vault needs.
• Gift boxes pop on any pour, but the color you use lands on top of the bottle they reveal. Pop them using colors you can already place safely elsewhere, not just whatever is closest to hand.
• If a level opens with a color split across two different bottles, reunite that color before chasing any other match. An unresolved split usually blocks the one relay lane every other color needs to pass through.
• Curtains and other hidden-row reveals trigger once enough empty slots exist behind them, so clear the required empties early rather than spending moves on side matches first.
• Keep at least one truly empty bottle in reserve whenever possible. Most stuck boards come from spending every open slot on partial matches instead of saving one for a reveal that comes later.
