Magic Sort Level 417 Walkthrough

hard Target: 52 moves 7 colors

Magic Sort Level 417 is a three-tier, eleven-bottle keychain-unlock on a red-heavy board with one standard empty at M4 and four large red anchors at T3, M2, M3 and B1. The top row carries T1 pink, T2 green-over-pink, T4 orange and T5 green-over-pink as the only four small mixers, the middle row carries M1 blue as the only other small single, and B2 is a small white keychain lock bottle that has to be popped with red before the four large reds can collapse. Peel the four small mixers top-first to bank pink, orange and blue, pop the B2 keychain with the top red off T3, walk the M2, M3 and B1 red tops down onto the freed B2 red lane, drain the buried base colors out of the four large reds through the freed slots, and top off every bottle into a single color.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 417 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the pink top off T1 down onto the M4 empty so pink starts a clean pink lane, then pour the green top off T2 onto T4's orange and the now-exposed pink off T2 onto the M4 pink lane so T2 collapses into a single pink base and pink banks to two layers on M4.
  2. Pour the green top off T5 onto the T4 orange, then pour the pink base of T5 onto the M4 pink lane so T5 collapses to an empty slot and pink banks to a full single-color bottle on M4.
  3. Pour the top red off T3 down onto the B2 white keychain — the keychain falls off, B2 becomes a working red bottle, and the red lane through the bottom row opens up.
  4. Pour the red tops off M2, M3 and B1 in order down onto the B2 red lane so the three middle/bottom large reds collapse to a red base each, then walk the B1 red base onto the same B2 red lane so B1 becomes a clean buffer.
  5. Pour the orange top off T4 down onto the freed B1 buffer to start the orange lane, then pour the buried orange base off T4 onto the same B1 orange lane so orange banks to a full single-color bottle and B1 becomes a clean orange slot.
  6. Pour the blue top off M1 down onto the freed T4 slot to start the blue lane, then pour the green and pink tops out of the T5 / T2 base leftovers onto the matching green and pink lanes that opened up as the large reds drained, until all ten bottle positions end on a single color and the T3 center bottle finishes empty.

Colors in this level:

Red, Pink, Green, Orange, Blue, Yellow, Brown

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring any color other than red onto the B2 white keychain, which keeps the keychain locked and strands the mismatched color on top of the only red landing slot the late game needs.
  • Pouring the red tops off T3, M2, M3 or B1 into a bottle that already holds pink, green, orange or blue, which splits the only red source on the board across multiple stacks with no second empty to recover it.
  • Pouring the green top off T2 or T5 into a bottle that already holds blue or pink, which buries the only green source on the board under a mismatched color and strands the second-green peel the late-game T5 drain needs.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 417 (spoiler-free)

  • Pour the pink top off T1 down onto the M4 empty on the very first move so pink starts a clean pink lane before any of the four large red anchors are touched.
  • Pop the B2 white keychain with the top red off T3, not with a red from M2, M3 or B1, so T3 can be drained down onto the freed B2 red lane in one continuous pass.
  • Keep the M4 empty strictly pink through the red-drain phase so the only standard flex slot on the board is never buried under a red, blue or orange top from the late-game sort.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Three tiers, eleven bottle positions, no corks, no spray cans, no wooden vault boxes, no wrap tunnels, no magic overflow, no frozen tiles and no white star flasks. The top row is five bottles — T1 a single pink layer, T2 a green-over-pink two-segment mixer, T3 a tall large red bottle (the visual anchor of the board, three red layers stacked in the center of the top row), T4 a single orange layer, and T5 a green-over-pink two-segment mixer. The middle row is four bottles — M1 a single blue layer, M2 the second large red bottle, M3 the third large red bottle, and M4 the only standard empty slot on the board. The bottom row is two bottles — B1 the fourth large red bottle (a shorter red stack than the other three) and B2 a small white keychain lock bottle (the only keyed tile on the board, locked at the start, sits dim until red is poured onto it). Four large red bottles dominate the top/middle/bottom rows, so red is by far the dominant color on the board and M4 is the only standard empty.
Goal
Unlock the keyed B2 white bottle by pouring its matching red onto the keychain, then drain the four large red anchors (T3, M2, M3, B1) down onto the freed B2 slot and into clean red lanes while peeling the four small mixers (T1 pink, T2 green/pink, T4 orange, T5 green/pink) and the M1 blue single off the top row, and finish with ten single-color lanes plus one empty. The real chokepoint is the four large red bottles — together they hold roughly ten to twelve red layers and the player has only one standard empty (M4) to start with, so the B2 keychain has to be popped early to give the red bank a second landing slot. The first unlock is pouring red onto the B2 white keychain so the lock falls off and B2 becomes a working red bottle; without that landing slot the red bank cannot collapse.
Opening
Pour the pink top off T1 down onto the M4 empty so pink starts a clean pink lane. Pour the green top off T2 onto T4's orange so the green-on-pink mixer at T2 is reduced to a single pink base, and pour the now-exposed second pink from T2 onto the M4 pink lane so pink banks to two layers. Pour the green top off T5 onto the same T4 orange so the T5 green/pink mixer is reduced to a single pink base, and pour that pink onto the M4 pink lane so pink banks to a full single-color bottle. Pour the top red off T3 down onto the B2 white keychain — the keychain falls off, B2 becomes a working red bottle with a red base, and the red lane through the bottom row opens up.
Danger Zone
Pour any color other than red onto the B2 white keychain and the keychain stays locked while the mismatched color strands on top of the only red landing slot the late game needs. Pour the red tops off T3 / M2 / M3 / B1 into a bottle that already holds pink, green, orange or blue and the only red source on the board splits across multiple stacks with no second empty to recover it. Pour the green top off T2 or T5 into a bottle that already holds blue or pink and you bury the only green source on the board under a mismatched color, which strands the second-green peel that the late-game T5 drain needs.
Mechanics
A three-tier, eleven-bottle keychain-unlock on a red-heavy board with one standard empty and four large red anchors. The B2 white keychain is the only lock on the board, the M4 empty is the only standard flex slot, and the four large red bottles (T3, M2, M3, B1) are the only true red sources. No corks, no spray cans, no wooden vaults, no wrap tunnels, no magic overflow, no frozen tiles, no white star flasks — the only twist is popping the B2 keychain with red on the very first red pour, peeling the four small mixers off the top row, and banking all the red onto the freed B2 slot plus the cleaned-out T3 / M2 / M3 / B1 positions until ten lanes end on a single color and the T3 center position finishes empty.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you unlock the white keychain bottle at B2 in Magic Sort Level 417?

Pour the top red off T3 (the large central red bottle) down onto the B2 white keychain. The keychain falls off, B2 becomes a working red bottle with a red base, and you can immediately walk the M2, M3 and B1 red tops plus the T3 red bases down onto the B2 red lane in a single pass. Use the T3 top red specifically — pouring a red from M2, M3 or B1 first still pops the lock, but it strands the T3 top red above three clean red bases that then have to be redistributed before the B2 slot can absorb them.

  • Why is the M4 empty slot so important in Level 417?

M4 is the only standard empty on a board with four large red anchors, so it has to stay strictly pink through the red-drain phase. The moment a second color touches M4 the only flex slot on the board is buried under a mixed stack, and the late-game sort has no place to land a loose top from the four large reds, so the rest of the run has to be redone.
