Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 168 Walkthrough
Level 168 alternates between independent upper and lower 6x4 boards under a skull timer. Clear the upper 3-counter shutter, then the lower 2-counter and ice gate while preserving the green, purple, yellow, orange, and red L-shaped footprints.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 168 — Full Solution
- Upper: fill blue r1,c1, purple r1,c2-c4, green L [(r2,c2),(r2,c3),(r2,c4),(r3,c2),(r3,c3)], and let the shutter step 3→2→1.
- Upper: route purple L [(r3,c4),(r4,c3),(r4,c4)] and magenta r4,c1-c2; wait for the upper counter to reach 0 and the shutter to vanish.
- Lower: place the blue horizontal receiver under the blue feed while the ice reads 2; wait for the ice to read 1 before committing the large L pieces.
- Lower: fill yellow L [(r2,c1),(r2,c2),(r3,c2)] and orange L [(r3,c1),(r3,c2),(r4,c1),(r4,c2)], then let the lower 2-counter shutter open.
- Finish lower yellow r3-r4,c3, orange r3-r4,c4, red r3-r4,c5, yellow r3-r4,c6 and any remaining upper short receivers. Confirm both panels are empty, then stop on the Level 168 celebration screen; the upper-panel clear alone is not completion.
Colors in this level:
Pink, Purple, Green, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, Orange, Red
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Assuming the empty upper panel means the lower board is solved.
- Breaking an L footprint or crossing the lower shutter while its ice counter still reads 2.
Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 168 (quick clues)
- Read the upper 3-counter and lower 2-counter separately; clearing the upper panel does not finish Level 168.
- Keep the lower yellow and orange L shapes intact until the ice number has dropped and the lower shutter is gone.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- Upper board footprints are blue r1,c1; purple r1,c2-c4; green L [(r2,c2),(r2,c3),(r2,c4),(r3,c2),(r3,c3)]; purple L [(r3,c4),(r4,c3),(r4,c4)]; magenta r4,c1-c2; and yellow shutter r1-r4,c5-c6 at 3. Lower board footprints are yellow L [(r2,c1),(r2,c2),(r3,c2)]; orange L [(r3,c1),(r3,c2),(r4,c1),(r4,c2)]; yellow r3-r4,c3; orange r3-r4,c4; red r3-r4,c5; yellow r3-r4,c6; and lower yellow shutter r1-r4,c1-c2 at 2.
- Goal
- Clear the upper 3-counter shutter, reduce the lower cyan ice 2→1, open the lower 2-counter shutter, and fill every upper/lower colored footprint to 100% before the skull timer expires.
- Opening
- Upper first: fill blue r1,c1, purple r1,c2-c4, and the green L. Lower next: place the blue horizontal under the lower blue feed while ice reads 2, then hold the yellow and orange L pieces until the lower gate releases.
- Danger Zone
- The two panels are separate coordinate spaces. Do not drag an upper L into the lower panel, and do not break the lower yellow/orange L footprints while the 2-counter and ice gate are active.
- Mechanics
- A skull timer, two independently gated 6x4 boards, an upper 3-counter shutter, a lower 2-counter shutter, and a cyan ice gate reading 2→1 define the level.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the skull icon mean in Level 168?
It marks the timed danger board; use the two counter states and the ice number as progress signals rather than dragging blindly.
How are the two boards related?
They are independent 6x4 boards shown in sequence: the upper 3-counter clears first, then the lower 2-counter and ice gate become active.
What is the completion state?
Both panels empty and the video shows the Sand Blocks celebration screen with Level 168 visible.
