How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 291 — Full Solution
- Drop the cyan 1x1 from the upper-right feed into r2c4, then wait until the 10 gate ticks and the square is fully covered.
- Send the blue 1x2 from r3c6 to the vertical c4 shaft (r4-r5,c4); do not bridge c3-c5. Wait for the next gate value.
- Take the red 1x2 receiver into r6c5-r6c6, then the white 1x1 at r7c5; this is the first safe way to lower the 14 gate.
- Work the roof in order: orange L into r1-r2,c5, then green L into r1-r2,c6. Let the 13 gate decrement before releasing another piece.
- When the side shelf exposes r4-r5,c6, place the yellow diagonal (two cells touching r4c6 and r5c5); wait for its counter response.
- Use the lower channel for the white L footprint r8c5-r9c5-c6, then the pink L at r8c6-r9c5; keep the c4 shaft clear until both settle.
- Only now bleed the purple 4x8 reservoir down c2-c3, catch the last green/cyan pieces in r6-r7,c4, and finish the remaining blue/pink cells; wait for the completion animation.
Colors in this level:
Purple, Cyan, Blue, Red, White, Pink, Green, Orange, Yellow
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Bridging c3-c5 with the blue bar; it blocks the c4 shaft and leaves the lower L footprints unreachable.
- Putting yellow on r3,c5 instead of the r4-r5,c6 diagonal shelf, which strands the 12 gate.
- Opening the tall reservoir before the 14/13 gates settle, allowing purple sand to cover the side counters.
Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 291 (quick clues)
- Resolve c4 top-to-bottom (cyan, blue, red) and wait for each counter decrement before the next drop.
- Keep r4,c3-c5 empty until the yellow diagonal reaches r4-r5,c6.
- Release the c1-c3 reservoir only after the 14 and 13 gates show their lower values.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- The playfield is a 6-column by 10-row receiver grid. A 4x8 purple reservoir occupies c1-c3/r2-r9; the right stack is c4-c6, with cyan 1x2 at r2c4, blue 1x1 at r5c4, red 1x2 at r6c5, white L at r8c5-c6 and pink L at r9c5-c6. Green/orange stepped receivers sit at r1-r2,c5-c6; counters 10, 14, 13 and 12 are printed on the side gates.
- Goal
- Drain the side gates from their exposed top cells, then route the yellow 2-cell diagonal into r4-r5,c6 and leave the bottom L footprints for the final white/pink wave.
- Opening
- The first cyan 1x1 falls into r2c4, followed by the blue 1x2 at r4-r5,c4-c5; keep c3 open so the purple reservoir can settle vertically later.
- Danger Zone
- A horizontal blue/purple footprint spanning r4,c3-c5 seals both the c4 side lane and the r8-c6 L. The yellow diagonal must land on the r4-r5,c6 shelf, not r3,c5.
- Mechanics
- Four counter gates (10/14/13/12), a tall 4x8 reservoir, one-cell c4 shaft, stepped green/orange roof, and a delayed yellow diagonal are all visible in the source frames.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where should the yellow diagonal go?
Use the exposed r4-r5,c6 shelf, with its two cells touching r4c6 and r5c5; placing it one row higher blocks the 12 gate.
When should the reservoir be drained?
After cyan/blue/red/white have cleared c4-c6 and the 14/13 gates have visibly stepped down; the reservoir is the final c2-c3 catch.
