Block Out level guide

Block Out Level 172 Walkthrough

expert 7 colors

Block Out Level 172 wraps narrow colored rails around a large orange-framed center and later expands into full-height interior lanes. Empty the lower junction first, collapse the long side rails without parking them in that junction, and delay the red and purple L-shapes until the tall vertical columns have room to leave.

How to Solve Block Out Level 172 — Full Solution

  1. Clear the exposed cyan block from the left wall and the red strip from the right wall.
  2. Remove the lower orange and yellow pieces to open the bottom junction.
  3. Feed the long green and cyan side rails toward their matching exits without crossing the junction.
  4. Clear the large central framed area and let the vertical interior lanes appear.
  5. Route the tall yellow, cyan, and green columns out before moving either L-shaped piece.
  6. Move the red L-shape through the lower center, then clear the purple L-shape along the opened side lane.
  7. Remove the final red, blue, and green vertical scraps from the bottom corners.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Parking a long side rail in the bottom junction so the late L-shapes have no turning room.
  • Turning a red or purple L into the center while tall columns still block both vertical exits.

Quick Tips for Block Out Level 172 (quick clues)

  • After the orange frame opens, clear tall interior columns before any red or purple L claims the new full-height lanes.
  • Do not treat the narrow outer rails as late parking—those cells become the only exits once the interior expands.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Tall rectangle with long green and cyan strips on the outer walls, a large orange-framed center, and a crowded lower end of red, yellow, green, purple, cyan, and blue vertical pieces that later expand into full-height interior lanes.
Goal
Drain the outer rails and bottom cluster to expose the central frame, clear the tall vertical columns that appear after the frame opens, then turn the red and purple L-shapes through the lower center.
Opening
Remove the exposed cyan piece on the left rail and the red strip on the right, then clear the lower orange and yellow pieces so the bottom junction can accept turning shapes.
Danger Zone
In the second phase, red and purple L-shapes cross the lower center while long cyan and green columns still occupy both sides. Moving an L into the junction early blocks two vertical exits.
Mechanics
A large central framed area consumes most of the board at first; after it clears, the peripheral rails become a full-height lane puzzle.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What changes after the central frame opens in Level 172?

The board expands into full-height interior lanes. Pieces that were constrained to outer rails suddenly compete for the same tall corridors.

  • Why do late L-shapes freeze the expanded board?

Red and purple L pieces need those interior lanes to turn. If tall columns still occupy them, the L footprints have no rotation cell.
