Block Out Level 174 Walkthrough

hard 8 colors

Block Out Level 174 packs an upper color field above four orange-framed marked compartments—two large horizontal rooms below and two narrow vertical rooms on the right. Drain the upper field, process the right chambers while their vertical lane stays clear, and preserve the central crossing for the late orange and purple pieces.

Board notes 5 details
Layout
Rectangle with a packed upper color field; four orange-framed marked compartments (two large horizontal chambers below, two narrow vertical chambers on the right); white numbered rails on the outer edges; green and purple gates left, red gates right, and blue or yellow routes on top and bottom.
Goal
Clear the exposed upper field while reducing all four marked compartments, route each revealed pack without blocking the right-side vertical lane, and finish through the center crossing.
Opening
Remove the upper yellow and green groups first, followed by exposed red and cyan pieces, and keep the right lane open while the narrow marked compartments shrink.
Danger Zone
Late orange and purple horizontal pieces share the center with a cyan vertical piece. Moving cyan down too soon seals the right route used by the orange block.
Mechanics
Four independently changing marked compartments reveal playable space in stages and compete for one right-side service lane and one center crossing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why process the narrow right chambers before the large lower rooms?

The right edge is the service lane for later orange/purple crossings. Narrow rooms that stay closed keep dumping sideways into that lane.

  • What freezes the late orange piece?

Cyan dropped into the center before orange finishes the right route. Orange, purple, and cyan all share that crossing.
