Block Out level guide
Block Out Level 317 Walkthrough
Block Out Level 317 divides six icy shutters between two packed chambers joined by one narrow neck. Alternate clears above and below, never park a long block on the purple bridge, and save the large yellow formations for the late top and right exits.

How to Solve Block Out Level 317 — Full Solution
- Send the bottom-center red group through the red floor gate, then clear the loose orange and yellow blocks on the lower-right edge.
- Move the freed lower green group left and remove the reachable blue and orange pieces in the upper chamber without occupying the neck.
- Use the first exposed blue side gate for upper blue groups, then clear lower purple and green edge groups as their side shutters open.
- When the lower-left green gate opens, slide the long green floor bar straight left, lower the narrow green center column into that vacated row, then move the purple two-arrow bridge down from the neck before sending exposed upper orange groups toward the top orange gate.
- When the top orange and purple exits appear, remove their matching upper bars and free the framed green-inset pieces from both upper corners.
- Send the remaining green columns through the left green gate.
- Separate the large yellow rectangles, route them through the right yellow exit, and clear the last orange bars through the top orange gate for completion.
Colors in this level:
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Leaving a long yellow or green column inside the neck and cutting off both chambers.
- Trying to move a framed upper piece before its surrounding shutter and same-color route are open.
Quick Tips for Block Out Level 317 (quick clues)
- Complete every transfer through the neck before starting another; the bridge is transit space, not a parking slot.
- Use the early red floor gate to create lower-chamber room before peeling the denser upper chamber.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- Hourglass board with crowded upper and lower chambers, a one-column neck occupied by a purple two-arrow bridge, top shutters marked 15 and 10, four side shutters, and framed green-inset pieces at both upper corners.
- Goal
- Use the red floor gate and each newly exposed side gate to drain all six shutters, keep the neck available for single transfers, then clear the framed pieces and late yellow/orange formations.
- Opening
- Send the bottom-center red group through the red floor gate, remove the lower-right orange and yellow pieces, shift the freed lower green group left, and peel reachable blue and orange pieces from the upper center.
- Danger Zone
- A long yellow or green column left in the one-cell neck divides the hourglass and leaves neither chamber enough turning room to reach its next gate.
- Mechanics
- Six independently numbered icy shutters reveal blue, green, purple, orange, and yellow exits in stages around two chambers connected by a purple two-arrow bridge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should the upper and lower chambers be alternated?
Each chamber opens gates needed by the other. Emptying only one side tends to fill the shared neck with a block that has nowhere to turn.
When should the large yellow formations move?
Late in the solve, after the right yellow exit is exposed and the neck and lower lanes have enough room to separate them.
