How to Solve Block Out Level 494 — Full Solution

  1. Clear the small cyan and purple blocks at upper right, then remove red pieces already aligned with the right gate.
  2. Peel green blocks away from the nested red/pink L while keeping that L parked until its center turn is open.
  3. Remove the blue-framed red horizontal under the top counters, then take the large green rectangle and starter yellows.
  4. As the 4 and 11 chambers open, clear edge cyan/yellow groups before shifting long red bars inward.
  5. After the 14 chamber opens, route small purple and blue pieces first to preserve the lower half.
  6. Clear the lower yellow/red L and ordinary cyan/red bars before the last three pieces take over the sparse board.
  7. Send the outlined cyan/red L through the right gate, then send the plain red L through that same right gate.
  8. Align the outlined red horizontal with the bottom gate and slide it down last to empty the board.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Dragging the nested red L into the center while green and cyan pieces still deny it a turn.
  • Using either bottom bend as parking space before both two-color L shapes have exited.

Board notes 5 details
Layout
A tall left chamber marked 4 and lower chambers marked 11 and 14 frame the starter field. The exposed upper right holds a blue-framed red bar, a nested red/pink L, and packed cyan, purple, red, yellow, and green blocks.
Goal
Open all three chambers, control the red-heavy full-board reveal, and route the two colored bottom L shapes before ordinary bars take their bends.
Opening
Clear top-right cyan/purple, take direct-route red pieces, then peel green blocks away from the nested L before moving either large framed piece.
Danger Zone
Moving the nested L before its center turn opens traps it; parking red bars in the lower corners later blocks the cyan/red and yellow/red L shapes.
Mechanics
Three separately counted shutters feed a Hard Level endgame dominated by red traffic and several two-color framed bars and corner pieces.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why is Block Out Level 494 marked Hard?

Three shutters release a dense red-heavy board, and two framed L shapes need opposite bottom corners kept open.

  • Which spaces must stay open near the end?

Keep the lower bends free until the yellow/red traffic clears; the final outlined cyan/red L and plain red L both need the right side before the outlined red horizontal can leave through the bottom.
