Colony Flow! Level 106 Walkthrough

hard 6 colors

Colony Flow Level 106 is a cat portrait where five yellow opener stacks have to ring the background first, because the later cyan outline, black mask, pink paw, green pupil, and oversized white face refills all share one ant hole.

How to Solve Colony Flow! Level 106 — Full Solution

  1. Tap the yellow 3 stack in the far-left active cell first. Let that small yellow wave claim the lower-left background and the yellow strip above the ant hole before you touch any lower-source color.
  2. Drain the rest of the yellow opener queue from the active row: yellow 24, then the two yellow 26 stacks, then yellow 44. Leave a short beat between yellow taps so the top band, the side background, and the yellow caps above both paws stay ahead of the next wave. Do not promote cyan 5, black 20, or either white stack yet.
  3. Once the yellow rim is mostly in place, send cyan 5 and then start the dark routing with black 20 and the first black 30. These waves begin the forehead stripe, ear rims, eye-mask edges, whiskers, and lower outline. Keep pink 30, green 31, and white 30 waiting until the cyan and black lanes are visibly open.
  4. Bring in pink 30 and then pink 22 to color the two inner ears and both paw pads. Use green 31 only after one black wave has already shaped both eye masks, so the lime pupils land inside the open eye sockets instead of parking on the still-white face.
  5. Start the white face sequence with white 30 and white 35, then accept the large promoted white refills that appear later in the run. Those white waves finish the nose bridge, cheeks, muzzle, and white paw cells. Thread cyan 35 and cyan 40 between the white beats to finish the right ear rim and the remaining cyan border cells while the face is still open.
  6. Save the late black 50 cleanup and the last tiny yellow accent for the end. When the black chin line, the last cyan border squares, and the final white face cells clear together, the cat portrait resolves and the clear banner appears.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Promoting cyan 5 or black 20 while the yellow 26 and yellow 44 background waves are still using the single hole, which clogs the route and leaves the top band or under-chin yellow strip unfinished.
  • Sending green 31 before the black eye-mask waves have opened both sockets, which leaves green ants parked on the still-white face and delays the pupil finish.
  • Firing the large white face refills before the black whisker lanes and the pink paw-pad routes are stable, which stacks white ants across the muzzle and starves the final cyan and black cleanup.

Quick Tips for Colony Flow! Level 106 (spoiler-free)

  • Clear the five yellow opener stacks before you try to route cyan 5 or black 20. The yellow background, paw caps, and under-chin strip need the hole first, and early cyan or black traffic only traps those last yellow cells.
  • Hold green 31 until a black wave has already framed both eye masks. The two lime pupil cells are tiny, and early green ants stall on the still-white face instead of dropping straight into the eyes.
  • Treat the late white refills as the finishers, not the opener. White is safest after one black outline wave and both pink paw-pad waves have already started, because then the muzzle and paw cells are actually ready to accept the big white traffic.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
The board opens in portrait view with a pixel-art cat face inside a white frame. The background above and around the head is bright yellow, the forehead and outer ear rims are cyan, the inner ears and paw pads are pink, the eye pupils are lime green, and the face, muzzle, and paws are mostly white with black eye masks, whiskers, and outline cells. A single dark ant hole sits on the dirt strip directly under the chin. The 5-cell active row starts full with yellow 3, yellow 24, yellow 26, yellow 26, and yellow 44. Source row 1 reads cyan 5, pink 30, green 31, cyan 35. Source row 2 reads black 30, black 30, pink 22, black 50. Source row 3 reads black 20, white 30, cyan 40, and white 35. There are no empty top-row buffer pads at the start, so the lower-source colors cannot rise until the yellow opener queue starts draining.
Goal
Yellow stacks clear the top background, the under-chin strip, and the yellow caps above both paws. Cyan 5, cyan 35, and cyan 40 clear the forehead, both ear rims, and the cyan border cells. Pink 30 and pink 22 clear the inner ears and the two paw pads. Green 31 clears the lime pupils. Black 20, black 30, black 30, and black 50 finish the eye masks, whiskers, mouth line, and outer contour. White 30, white 35, and the later promoted white refills clear the nose bridge, cheeks, muzzle, and white paw cells. The level ends only when the cat face is fully recolored and the last face and outline cells clear together.
Opening
The run opens with the yellow 3 stack in the far-left active cell. That small wave starts the lower-left background and the yellow strip directly above the ant hole. The rest of the opener queue stays yellow, so the remaining yellow 24, the two yellow 26 stacks, and yellow 44 are drained before the lower-source colors are allowed to take over the single hole for long. Cyan 5 is the first promoted lower-source stack that becomes visible, but it is held until the yellow rim around the portrait is mostly claimed.
Danger Zone
Promoting cyan 5 or black 20 while the yellow 26 and yellow 44 background waves are still moving around the top band and under-chin strip, which clogs the only route and leaves the last yellow background cells open. The late oversized white face refill is the second trap. If white is sent before the black eye-mask and whisker lanes are mostly shaped, white ants park across the muzzle and delay the green 31 pupils and the last cyan edge cleanup. Pink can also stall if the paw pads are opened before white has started the paw cells.
Mechanics
Level 106 is a single-hole multi-stack routing board with a five-stack same-color opener and no starting buffer pads. Unlike mixed-color openers such as Level 101, this board forces the player to clear a monochrome yellow queue first, then pivot into cyan and black routing, and only later unlock the oversized white face refills that finish most of the cat portrait.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I tap first in Colony Flow Level 106?

Start with the yellow 3 in the far-left active cell, then keep draining the remaining yellow 24, yellow 26, yellow 26, and yellow 44 opener stacks. Level 106 is built around a five-stack yellow background opener, and the lower cyan, black, pink, green, and white refills all become much safer once that yellow rim is already around the cat portrait.

  • When is the big white face refill safe in Colony Flow Level 106?

Wait until the yellow background is mostly finished and at least one black outline wave has already opened the eye-mask and whisker lanes. Then white 30, white 35, and the later oversized white promotions can clear the nose bridge, cheeks, muzzle, and paws without parking across the still-busy entrance path.
