Magic Sort Level 238 Walkthrough

hard Target: 40 moves 7 colors

Magic Sort Level 238 is a cork-heavy board where seven of the twelve bottles are sealed — five corks on the top row and two locked wooden boxes at the bottom. Sort the open middle mixers into clean red, blue, yellow and green lanes first, then use those lanes to pop the corks and unlock the boxes until every bottle holds one color.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 238 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the orange top of the orange-red mixer into a free slot, then pour the red top of the red-yellow mixer into the red bottom you just exposed to start a clean red lane.
  2. Use the red lane to pop the upper-left corked bottle, then pour its revealed color onto the matching lane.
  3. Pour the green top of the green-yellow mixer into the orange-red bottle you freed in step 1, then pour the yellow bottom onto a second free slot to start a clean yellow lane.
  4. Use the yellow lane to pop the green-capped third cork, sending its revealed color onto the green stack you are building.
  5. Pour the two middle blue tops onto each other to start a clean blue lane, then use that blue to pop the two remaining blue-capped corks on the top row.
  6. Use the clean orange and blue you now have to unlock the two wooden boxes at the bottom, releasing their hidden single colors into the sort.
  7. Consolidate the opened corked and boxed bottles as single-color stacks, pouring the leftover mixed segments onto their matching lanes.
  8. Top off red, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink and purple so every bottle holds one color.

Colors in this level:

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, Purple

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring a non-matching color onto a sealed bottle, which strands the color in a mixed bottle with no home.
  • Popping the green-capped third cork before a clean green lane exists, which dumps a hidden color onto a bottle that has nowhere to go.
  • Using the two locked wooden boxes as ordinary sort targets before the clean orange and blue lanes are ready to unlock them.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 238 (spoiler-free)

  • Sort the open middle mixers into clean red, blue, yellow and green lanes before touching any sealed bottle.
  • Pop the corks in the order their caps ask — red, then yellow, then blue — so each reveal lands on a ready lane.
  • Save the two locked wooden boxes for last, using the clean orange and blue lanes you built in the middle to unlock them.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Three tiers, twelve bottles, no starting empties. The top row is five white corked bottles, each sealed with a small color hint on the cap — red, blue, green, red, blue. The middle row is the only open band — five two-color mixers carrying orange, red, blue, yellow and green in pairs. The bottom row is two locked wooden boxes with a chain indicator and a greyed-out orange and blue hidden inside.
Goal
Pop the seven sealed bottles by sorting the open middle row into the four lanes the caps are waiting for. The first unlock is the upper-left red cork — once a clean red lane exists, that cork pops and a hidden color joins play.
Opening
Pour the orange top of the orange-red mixer into a free slot, then pour the red top of the red-yellow mixer into the red bottom you just exposed to start a clean red stack. Use that red to pop the upper-left corked bottle and pull its revealed color onto the matching lane.
Danger Zone
Pouring a non-matching color onto a sealed bottle wastes a sort lane and strands the color in a mixed bottle with no home. Specifically, do not pour orange into a green-capped cork or red into a blue-capped cork, and never pop the third green-capped cork before a clean green lane exists.
Mechanics
A cork-and-vault board with seven sealed bottles and only five open mixers. The open middle row is the only source of trigger colors, so the whole level is sequencing those sorts so each new clean lane is exactly the color the next sealed cap is waiting for.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you start Magic Sort Level 238 when seven bottles are sealed?

Start with the cleanest middle-row split — pour the orange top of the orange-red mixer into a free slot, then pour the red top of the red-yellow mixer into the red bottom you exposed. That builds a clean red lane, and the red is exactly the color the upper-left cork is waiting for.

  • Why is the third green-capped cork the trap in Level 238?

It is the only cork that hides a color you do not already have a lane for. If you pop it before the middle green-yellow mixer has been split and the green top has been routed onto a clean slot, the reveal lands in a mixed bottle with no home and the rest of the row locks.
