Magic Sort level guide
Magic Sort Level 250 Walkthrough
Magic Sort Level 250 is a two-tier, twelve-bottle puzzle that introduces the new Verdreher (twister) bottle in bottom col 5 — pour its orange into a clean orange lane, tap the cap, and the rainbow-swirl trigger dissolves the brown-orange-red stack in top col 6 while a fresh purple segment drops onto the cleared slot. The real chokepoint is that single trigger — target the right stack, then route red, yellow, green, gray, blue, brown, orange, pink and purple into nine single-color bottles with three empty positions left.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 250 — Full Solution
- Lift the bottom-col-6 (pink-on-orange) bottle and pour the pink top onto the matching pink segment in bottom col 4 to start the pink lane, then pour the orange segment off that bottle into the Verdreher in bottom col 5 to start a dedicated orange lane.
- Peel the brown top off the top-col-6 (brown-orange-red) bottle and dock it onto the brown one-segment in bottom col 2 to bank brown, then peel the red top off the same top-col-6 stack and pour it onto the yellow-on-red bottom-col-3 bottle so red is staged for the trigger.
- Tap the now-empty Verdreher cap in bottom col 5 to activate the rainbow swirl, drag the swirled bottle onto the brown-orange-red top-col-6 stack to dissolve it, and a fresh purple segment drops onto the cleared top-col-6 slot to become the new purple lane.
- Pour the red top off the top-col-1 (red-yellow-green-gray) mixer onto the red layer now exposed in bottom col 3, then pour the yellow top off top-col-1 down onto the yellow segment still in bottom col 4 to start a yellow lane.
- Drain the top-col-2 (red-yellow-blue) mixer top-first — red onto the red lane in bottom col 3, yellow onto the yellow lane in bottom col 4, and blue down into the empty top-col-4 slot to start the blue lane.
- Drain the top-col-5 (red-blue-green) mixer top-first — red onto the red lane in bottom col 3, blue onto the blue lane in top col 4, and green down into the empty top-col-3 slot to start the green lane.
- Peel the gray bottom of top-col-1 down into the empty top-col-4 slot once blue is fully banked, then pour the gray lane onto the empty top-col-3 slot once green is fully banked so gray ends in its own single-color bottle.
- Top off red, yellow, blue, green, gray, brown, orange, pink and purple each in their own single-color bottle, leaving the top-col-3 and top-col-4 slots plus the original Verdreher slot in bottom col 5 empty as the three leftover buffers.
Colors in this level:
Red, Yellow, Green, Gray, Blue, Brown, Orange, Pink, Purple
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Pouring a non-orange color into the Verdreher in bottom col 5 before triggering, which locks the rainbow-swirl dissolve on a mixed stack and strands a unique color underneath.
- Tapping the swirled Verdreher on the top-col-1, top-col-2 or top-col-5 mixers instead of the top-col-6 brown-orange-red stack, which strands the gray/blue/green underneath with nowhere to land.
- Forgetting to peel the red top of the top-col-6 stack onto the bottom-col-3 yellow first, so the Verdreher trigger leaves a stranded red on the cleared slot that blocks the new purple from getting its own home.
Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 250 (spoiler-free)
- Bank the Verdreher's orange into a clean orange lane before tapping the cap, otherwise the rainbow-swirl trigger pulls from a mixed stack and strands a unique color underneath.
- Peel red off the top-col-6 brown-orange-red stack onto the yellow-on-red bottom-col-3 bottle first, then peel brown onto bottom-col-2 brown — the red and brown landings have to be staged before the trigger fires.
- Target only the top-col-6 (brown-orange-red) stack with the swirled Verdreher, every other bottle on the board hides a color with no other home and the puzzle locks on a wrong target.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- A two-tier board that resolves to six columns wide and twelve bottle positions, with the top-row col 3 and col 4 starting as the only two empty slots. The top row carries four tall mixers — col 1 is a four-color stack of red, yellow, green and gray, col 2 is a three-color stack of red, yellow and blue, col 5 is a three-color stack of red, blue and green, and col 6 is a three-color stack of brown, orange and red. The bottom row is shallower — col 1 is a one-segment red, col 2 a one-segment brown, col 3 a two-color stack of yellow and red, col 4 a two-color stack of pink and yellow, col 5 the orange Verdreher bottle capped with a sparkly yellow cap, and col 6 a two-color stack of pink and orange. Nine distinct colors appear in total; purple is the ninth and only enters the board once the Verdreher is activated.
- Goal
- Bank the orange from the Verdreher onto a clean orange lane first, then tap the Verdreher cap and use the rainbow swirl to dissolve the brown-orange-red top-col-6 stack — the only bottle whose three colors are all already seeded elsewhere on the board. The trigger both removes that redundant stack and releases a fresh purple segment into the cleared slot. After the Verdreher is spent, route red, yellow, green, gray, blue, brown, orange, pink and purple each into its own single-color bottle.
- Opening
- Lift the bottom-col-6 (pink-on-orange) bottle, pour the pink top onto the matching pink in bottom col 4 to start a pink lane, then pour the orange segment off that bottle into the Verdreher in bottom col 5 to start a dedicated orange lane. Peel the brown top off the top-col-6 (brown-orange-red) bottle and dock it onto the brown one-segment in bottom col 2 to bank brown. Tap the now-empty Verdreher cap to activate the rainbow swirl, then drag the swirled bottle onto the brown-orange-red top-col-6 stack to dissolve that whole bottle and release a purple segment onto the cleared top-col-6 slot.
- Danger Zone
- Pouring the wrong color into the Verdreher before orange is banked locks the trigger in a mixed state and the rainbow-swirl dissolve is wasted on a non-redundant stack — bank orange into a clean orange lane first or the trigger pulls the wrong segment. Every bottle except the top-col-6 brown-orange-red stack carries a color with no other home (col 1 hides gray and green, col 2 hides blue, col 5 hides green and blue, bottom col 3 hides red, bottom col 4 hides pink), so targeting any of those with the swirled bottle strands that buried color with nowhere to land. Bottom-col-3 (yellow-on-red) is the only spot to bank red after the Verdreher clears top col 6, so peel the red top of the top-col-6 stack onto bottom-col-3 yellow first, otherwise the released red segment lands on the cleared slot and blocks the new purple from getting its own home.
- Mechanics
- A Verdreher release on a dense twelve-bottle board — the new twister bottle in bottom col 5 can be emptied into a clean orange lane and then activated to dissolve exactly one fully-redundant stack, which both removes the unwanted bottle and unlocks a fresh purple segment for the sort. The chokepoint is "Verdreher first, then route" — bank orange, dissolve the brown-orange-red top-col-6 stack, then route the released purple into its own bottle before draining the remaining col 1, col 2 and col 5 mixers top-first so all twelve positions resolve to nine single-color bottles plus three empties (top col 3, top col 4 and the original Verdreher slot in bottom col 5).
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Verdreher (twister) bottle work in Magic Sort Level 250?
Pour the orange segment of the Verdreher in bottom col 5 into a clean orange lane first to empty the bottle, then tap the yellow cap to activate the rainbow-swirl trigger. Drag the swirled Verdreher onto the top-col-6 (brown-orange-red) stack and that whole bottle dissolves, removing the redundant three-color stack and releasing a fresh purple segment onto the cleared top-col-6 slot.
Why does the Verdreher have to target the top-col-6 (brown-orange-red) stack specifically?
Brown, orange and red from that top-col-6 stack are all already seeded on the bottom row (brown in bottom col 2, orange in the Verdreher, red in bottom col 3 and bottom col 1), so none of its three colors are unique. The other top-row mixers (col 1, col 2, col 5) each hide a color with no other home on the board — gray, blue, and green respectively — so targeting any of them strands that hidden color and the puzzle locks.
