Magic Sort Level 270 Walkthrough

hard Target: 36 moves 10 colors

Magic Sort Level 270 is a two-tier, ten-bottle pure sort board where the whole run is controlled by a single three-color bottle in bot col 4 and a two-color bottle in top col 5. Bank cyan, pink and magenta in the three top-row empties first, then peel the bot-4 stack top-first in orange, yellow, blue order into the three freshly drained bottom-row slots so the leftover dark and red from top-5 have clean top-row and bottom-row homes.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 270 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the cyan top off the short bot col 3 bottle into the empty top col 1, then pour the pink top off the bot col 1 bottle into the empty top col 2, then walk the magenta single off top col 4 over to the empty top col 3 so the three top-row empties hold cyan, pink and magenta.
  2. Peel the orange top off the three-color bot col 4 bottle into the newly empty top col 4 so orange is banked as a finished single-color and yellow is exposed underneath bot-4.
  3. Pour the yellow middle off bot col 4 into the empty bot col 1 so yellow lands as a finished single-color bottle and bot col 4 is now just blue at the bottom.
  4. Pour the leftover blue from bot col 4 down into the empty bot col 3 so blue joins the bottom row as a finished single-color bottle and bot col 4 is completely empty.
  5. Pour the dark top off the two-color top col 5 bottle into the empty top col 4 so dark lands on a clean slot and top-5 is left with just red at the bottom.
  6. Pour the red bottom of top-5 down into the empty bot col 4 so red becomes a finished single-color bottle and top-5 is fully drained.
  7. Top off cyan in top-1, pink in top-2, magenta in top-3, dark in top-4, green in bot-5 and verify orange in top-4, yellow in bot-1, blue in bot-3, brown in bot-2 and red in bot-4 are all single-color.
  8. Confirm all ten bottles hold exactly one color with no mixed segments and no empty slots remaining.

Colors in this level:

Orange, Yellow, Blue, Cyan, Pink, Magenta, Green, Brown, Red, Dark

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring the blue bottom of bot-4 into any slot other than the freshly emptied bot-3, which strands blue on top of a non-matching color and breaks the bottom row.
  • Peeling the yellow middle off bot-4 before the orange top has been banked, which buries yellow on top of orange in the top-4 slot and leaves no place for the dark cap from top-5 to land on the final move.
  • Trying to land the dark cap from top-5 into a top-row slot that already holds cyan, pink or magenta, which mixes dark into a finished lane and forces a redo.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 270 (spoiler-free)

  • Always peel the three-color bot-4 bottle top-first in orange, yellow, blue order and land each color into a freshly emptied slot — never into a buffer that already holds a different color.
  • Bank cyan, pink and magenta in the three top-row empties before touching the three-color bottle; the top-row empties are the only place those three short bottles can go.
  • Save the dark pour from top-5 for last and aim it at the empty top-4, which is the slot vacated by the magenta single at the start of the run.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
A two-tier, five-column board that resolves to ten bottle positions with no locks, no wraps, no boxes, no corks, no magic bottles. The three leftmost positions of the top row are three empty clear-glass buffers. Top col 4 holds a short single-color magenta bottle and top col 5 holds a tall two-color bottle stacked red on the bottom and a dark almost-black on top. The bottom row carries five colored bottles: bot col 1 is a short pink single, bot col 2 a short brown single, bot col 3 a short cyan single, bot col 4 a tall three-color bottle stacked orange on top, yellow in the middle and blue at the bottom, and bot col 5 a short green single. The only workshop is the three top-row empties on the left.
Goal
Split the three-color bot-4 bottle top-first so each of its three colors lands on a freshly drained single-color slot, then split the two-color top-5 so the leftover dark and red each find a clean home. After both multi-color bottles are reduced, every one of the ten positions must end on a single color with no mixed segments and no empty slots left over.
Opening
Pour the cyan top off the short bot col 3 bottle into top col 1 to bank the first finished lane, then pour the pink top off bot col 1 into top col 2 to bank the second finished lane. Walk the magenta single off top col 4 over to top col 3 to bank the third finished lane and free top-4 as a new empty. Peel the orange top off the three-color bot col 4 bottle into the empty top col 4 so orange is banked and yellow is exposed underneath. Pour the yellow middle off bot-4 into the empty bot col 1 to bank yellow and leave bot-4 as just blue at the bottom.
Danger Zone
Pouring the blue bottom of bot-4 anywhere except the empty bot-3 slot strands it — the three top-row empties are already promised to cyan, pink and magenta, and the four short bottom-row bottles (pink, brown, cyan, green) all have non-matching tops, so blue has exactly one legal landing in the freshly drained bot-3. Reverse the peel order on bot-4 and pour yellow out before orange, and yellow lands on top of orange in top-4 and locks that slot as a mixed bottle with no place for the leftover dark from top-5. The dark cap on top-5 is the only color that can land on the empty top-4, so bot-4 must be reduced to blue first or the final top-4 dark pour has no legal destination.
Mechanics
A pure sort board with a single dominant three-color bottle in the bottom row and a two-color bottle in the top row, with no corks, boxes, wraps or magic bottles. The chokepoint is the order in which you peel the three-color stack in bot-4: orange must go to the empty top-4, yellow to the empty bot-1, blue to the empty bot-3, in that exact top-first sequence. The two-color top-5 then becomes a tail-end split where dark lands on the just-vacated top-4 and red lands on the just-vacated bot-4.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you handle the three-color bottle in bot col 4 in Magic Sort Level 270?

Peel it top-first in orange, yellow, blue order and land each color into a freshly emptied slot. Orange goes into the empty top-4 left behind by the magenta move, yellow goes into the empty bot-1 left behind by the pink move, and blue goes into the empty bot-3 left behind by the cyan move. Reverse the yellow step and the leftover dark cap from top-5 has no clean home on the final move.

  • Why must cyan, pink and magenta be banked in the top row before any bot-4 pour?

The three top-row empties are the only place those three short single-color bottles can go without burying a color under a mismatched top. The three-color bot-4 bottle needs those empties (and the slots they vacate) to land orange, yellow and blue one segment at a time. Bank cyan, pink and magenta first and you keep three fresh top-row and bottom-row slots open for the split.
