Magic Sort level guide
Magic Sort Level 284 Walkthrough
Magic Sort Level 284 is a two-tier, ten-bottle "? -cork finale" that hides its real chokepoint behind four sealed bottles — two dark triple-cork end caps (T1, T5) and two single-cork mid-bottles (B3, B4). Yellow is the trigger for the T1 end cap that releases the hidden pink, the B3 "?" cap releases a hidden cyan on a red pour, and the B4 "?" cap releases a hidden brown on a purple pour. Bank yellow, green, orange, cyan, red and purple first by stealing top sections from the T3 four-color and the col 2 / col 4 single bottles, then trigger the four "? " caps in matching order so each released color lands on its own lane and the board ends with nine full single-color bottles plus one spare empty.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 284 — Full Solution
- Pour T2 (yellow, single) onto the bottom of T4 (cyan, single) to start a yellow-over-cyan stack, then peel the yellow top off that combined stack onto the dark "?" end cap at T1. T1's top "?" pops and the hidden pink drops into the T1 slot.
- Pull the green top off T3 (green/red/orange/cyan) into the freed T2 to bank green as a one-color lane, then pour the red now exposed at slot 2 of T3 onto the red top of B3. The B3 "?" cap pops and the hidden cyan drops into the B3 slot, giving you a cyan-over-red stack.
- Peel the orange third-slot off T3 into the freed T2 to bank orange, then pour the cyan bottom of T3 onto the cyan-over-red B3 stack to start a cyan lane. The T3 bottle is now empty and ready as a working buffer.
- Pour the brown top off B1 (brown/red/blue) onto the orange lane at T2 to start a brown-over-orange stack, then peel the red mid-slot off B1 onto the red lane at B3 to grow the red stack. The blue bottom of B1 is now a single blue buffer.
- Pour the green top off B2 (brown/cyan/green) into the empty T3, then peel the cyan mid-slot off B2 onto the cyan lane at B3 to grow the cyan stack. Pour the brown bottom of B2 onto the brown-over-orange stack at T2 to grow brown.
- Pour the brown top off B4 (purple/"?"/brown) into the empty T3, then pour the purple bottom of B4 (now exposed after the "?" popped) onto the top of the dark "?" end cap at T5. T5's top "?" pops and the hidden brown drops into the T5 slot.
- Drain B5 (green/blue/red) top-first — pour the green top into the empty T3, pour the blue mid-slot onto the blue buffer at B1 to grow the blue lane, then pour the red bottom onto the red lane at B3 to grow red.
- Top off pink, brown, yellow, green, orange, cyan, red, blue and purple so all ten bottles end on a single color with one spare empty left.
Colors in this level:
Yellow, Green, Orange, Cyan, Red, Blue, Brown, Purple, Pink
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Pouring any color other than yellow onto T1 (the dark "?" end cap), which seals the trigger and burns the move you needed to release the hidden pink.
- Peeling cyan off T3 before green, red and orange are banked, which buries cyan under the four-color tail and leaves the top-row, col 4 cyan single with nothing to grow onto.
- Popping the B3 or B4 "?" cap before red or purple is banked, which strands the released hidden cyan or red on top of an unrelated stack with no clean lane to land on.
Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 284 (spoiler-free)
- Pour T2's yellow onto T1 the moment you bank a clean slot — yellow is the only trigger for the T1 dark "?" end cap, so do not park yellow on the cyan or red lane as a temporary hold.
- Peel cyan off T3 last; the four-color T3 bottle is the only source of cyan in the top half of the board, and pulling green, red or orange after cyan buries cyan under the four-color tail.
- The B3 "?" cap only opens on a red pour and the B4 "?" cap only opens on a purple pour, so keep red and purple as matching-lane triggers instead of letting them bleed into the brown, green or blue lanes.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- A two-tier, five-column board of ten bottle positions with no locks, wraps or boxes — but four dark "?" sealed bottles carry the whole puzzle. Top row, col 1 (T1) is a dark sealed bottle with three "?" question marks stacked, col 2 (T2) is a full single yellow, col 3 (T3) is a four-color mixer of green/red/orange/cyan, col 4 (T4) is a full single cyan, and col 5 (T5) is another dark sealed bottle with three "?" marks stacked. Bottom row, col 1 (B1) is a brown/red/blue three-color mixer, col 2 (B2) is a brown/cyan/green three-color, col 3 (B3) is a red/"?"/blue three-color with a "?" cap sealing the middle segment, col 4 (B4) is a purple/"?"/brown three-color with the same "?" cap mechanic, and col 5 (B5) is a green/blue/red three-color. Zero starting empty bottles.
- Goal
- Bank yellow, green, orange, cyan, red and purple first by stealing top sections from the T3 four-color and the col 2 / col 4 single bottles, then trigger the two dark "?" end caps (T1, T5) and the two mid-row "?" caps (B3, B4) in matching order so each released hidden color (pink, brown, cyan, red) has a clean home. The four-color T3 bottle is the only source of green, red, orange and cyan in the top half, and that sequence is what builds the lanes the sealed bottles eventually pour into.
- Opening
- Pour T2 (yellow, single) onto the bottom of T4 (cyan, single) to start a yellow-over-cyan stack, then peel the yellow top off that combined stack onto the dark "?" end cap at T1. T1's top "?" pops and the hidden pink drops into the T1 slot. Pull the green top off T3 (green/red/orange/cyan) into the freed T2 to bank green as a one-color lane, then pour the red now exposed at slot 2 of T3 onto the red top of B3 to start a red lane and pop the B3 "?" cap. Peel the orange third-slot off T3 into the freed T2 to bank orange.
- Danger Zone
- Pouring any color other than yellow onto T1 (the dark "?" end cap) seals the trigger and burns the move — pink, brown or any other color poured on top just sits there and prevents the hidden pink from releasing. The bottom-row, col 3 "?" cap in B3 only opens on a red pour, and the bottom-row, col 4 "?" cap in B4 only opens on a purple pour; if you peel the red or purple tops off those bottles before their matching color is banked, the released hidden color (cyan from B3, red from B4) has no clean lane and gets stranded on top of an unrelated stack. The four-color T3 bottle is the only source of cyan in the top half of the board, so peel cyan off T3 last — pour green, red and orange first, or cyan gets buried under the four-color tail and the top-row, col 4 cyan single can never grow.
- Mechanics
- A two-tier, ten-bottle "? -cork finale" with two dark triple-cork end caps (T1 and T5) and two single-cork mid-bottles (B3 and B4). The whole board has zero starting empty, so the first three moves have to bank working slots by stealing from the T3 four-color and the T2 / T4 singles. The chokepoint is colour-lane first, cork second — bank yellow, green, orange, cyan, red and purple in the top-row mixers and the col 2 / col 5 buffer positions before pouring any of those onto a sealed "? " cap, then walk the four caps (T1, T5, B3, B4) in matching order so each released hidden color lands on a prepared lane.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you open the two dark "?" end caps in Magic Sort Level 284?
Yellow is the only trigger for the T1 dark "?" end cap, so pour T2's yellow onto T1 the moment you bank a clean slot — T1's top "?" pops and the hidden pink drops into the T1 slot. Purple is the only trigger for the T5 dark "?" end cap, so peel the brown top off B4 first, then pour the exposed purple from B4 onto T5. T5's top "?" pops and the hidden brown drops into the T5 slot. Pouring any other color onto either end cap just seals the trigger and burns the move.
Why must cyan be peeled off T3 last in Level 284?
The four-color T3 bottle (green/red/orange/cyan) is the only source of cyan in the top half of the board, and the top-row, col 4 cyan single can only grow by receiving cyan from T3. Pull green, red and orange off T3 first so each of those colors lands on its own clean lane, then pull cyan last and route it onto the cyan lane at B3. Reverse the order and cyan gets buried under the four-color tail, leaving the top-row, col 4 cyan single stranded with no place to grow.
