Magic Sort Level 311 Walkthrough

hard Target: 36 moves 10 colors

Magic Sort Level 311 is a two-tier, ten-bottle-and-one-box release board with zero starting empties. Feed dark blue, purple, yellow and pink into the four stripe panels of the pink/coral lock box at the top, crack the two '?' sticky wraps in the bottom row on the matching pink and red pours, then unwrap the two new sticky wraps that drop out of the box with red and merge the four hidden top-row bottles into the surviving lanes so the board ends with ten full single-color bottles plus two empties.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 311 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the dark blue top of the bottom-row, col-1 bottle at B1 onto the empty top segment of the gray bottle at T1, banking a dark blue layer on top of three grays and freeing B1 as the first real buffer.
  2. Pour that banked dark blue from T1 into the bottom-panel stripe of the pink/coral lock box to satisfy the first stripe, warming the box and freeing the dark blue buffer.
  3. Pour the purple top of the full four-segment bottle at B4 into the second stripe panel of the lock box to satisfy the second stripe.
  4. Pour the yellow top of the four-segment yellow-on-purple mixer at B5 into the freed B1 buffer to start a yellow lane, then pour the now-exposed purple from B5 into the third stripe panel of the lock box to satisfy the third stripe.
  5. Pour the revealed pink from the unwrapped B2 sticky onto the matching pink base in B3 to unwrap both '?' sticky wraps and bank pink on the board, then pour that pink into the fourth stripe panel of the lock box to ignite the box — the four stripes glow, the padlock drops, and the box shatters to release the four hidden top-row bottles including the two new sticky wraps at T1 and T3.
  6. Pour red from the popped box payload into the new top-row T1 sticky wrap to unwrap it (the wrap dissolves to an empty), then pour red into the new top-row T3 sticky wrap to unwrap it and reveal the orange base.
  7. Merge the revealed orange, the new pink, the new brown and blue from the box payload, and the surviving yellow, purple, red, green, dark blue, cyan and gray lanes into single bottles, topping off each lane so the board finishes with ten full single-color bottles plus two empties.

Colors in this level:

Gray, Brown, Yellow, Dark blue, Purple, Pink, Red, Orange, Cyan, Green

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring the wrong color first into the four-panel lock box, which burns a turn without satisfying any stripe and strands a buffer.
  • Pouring a non-matching color into a '?' sticky wrap at B2 or B3, which seals the wrap tighter and loses the only source of pink or red for the rest of the run.
  • Pouring the dark blue from B1 straight into the box without first banking it on the gray T1, which leaves the rest of the box sequence without a real buffer and strands the second stripe color.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 311 (spoiler-free)

  • Tap the dark blue bottle at B1 first and pour its top onto the gray T1 to free B1 as a buffer before you touch the lock box.
  • Feed the lock box's four stripe panels in the order dark blue, purple, yellow, pink so a buffer is always free for the next stripe.
  • Never pour a non-matching color into a '?' sticky wrap — the wrap is the only way to surface the pink and red the box's last two stripes need.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Two tiers, no white magic flasks, no corks and no starting empties. The top of the board is a tall golden wooden lock box with four vertical pink/coral stripe panels and a brown padlock icon at the center bottom, occupying the slot where columns 2 and 3 of the top row would normally sit. The top tier therefore opens with only two visible bottles: a four-segment near-empty gray bottle at T1 sitting just to the left of the box, and a four-segment brown-on-yellow mixer at T2 sitting just to the right of the box. The bottom row runs across all six columns and reads, left to right: B1 a full four-segment dark blue bottle, B2 a four-segment pink top behind a '?' sticky wrap overlay, B3 a four-segment red top behind a second '?' sticky wrap overlay, B4 a full four-segment purple bottle, B5 a four-segment yellow-on-purple two-color mixer, and B6 a full four-segment cyan bottle. Every bottle on the board is either full, mixed, fogged behind a sticky wrap or sealed behind the lock box, and the only pourable colors in the very first move are the dark blue at B1, the purple at B4 and the cyan at B6.
Goal
Pop the four-panel lock box by feeding it four different top colors (one per stripe), crack the two '?' sticky wraps in the bottom row with the right matching pours, unwrap the two sticky wraps that drop out of the box's hidden payload with red, then route all ten colors (gray, brown, yellow, dark blue, purple, pink, red, orange, cyan and a second green lane for the leftover B5 purple) into single bottles so the board finishes with ten full single-color lanes and two empties (the dissolved sticky wrap at the new top-row T1 and the emptied original T2 brown-on-yellow).
Opening
Tap the bottom-row, col-1 dark blue bottle at B1 and pour its dark blue top onto the empty top segment of the gray bottle at T1 to bank a dark blue layer on top of three grays, freeing B1 as the first real buffer. Pour that banked dark blue from T1 into the bottom-panel stripe of the lock box to satisfy the first of the four stripe colors and warm the box. Peel the purple top of the full four-segment bottle at B4 into the second stripe panel of the lock box to satisfy the second stripe, then peel the yellow top of the four-segment yellow-on-purple mixer at B5 into the freed B1 buffer to start a yellow lane, and pour the now-exposed purple from B5 into the third stripe panel of the lock box to satisfy the third stripe. Finally, pour the revealed pink from the unwrapped B2 sticky onto the matching pink base in B3 to unwrap both '?' sticky wraps and bank pink on the board, then pour that pink into the fourth stripe panel of the lock box to ignite the box — the four stripes glow, the padlock drops, and the box shatters to release the four hidden bottles into the top row.
Danger Zone
The four-panel lock box is the only gate to the upper tier, and its four stripe panels must each be fed a different color in sequence — pour the wrong color first, or pour two of the same color, and the box just absorbs the pour without satisfying any panel, burning a turn and a buffer. The two '?' sticky wraps at B2 and B3 hide their actual contents behind the fogged overlay, so you cannot read their top color until you pour something into them; pour a non-matching color into a sticky wrap and the wrap seals tighter, and you lose the only source of pink or red on the board for the rest of the run. The four-segment yellow-on-purple mixer at B5 is the second tightest spot because it carries the only yellow top on the board — peel the yellow first to bank it, but never bury the yellow under another color before the lock box's third stripe is satisfied, or the third stripe panel stays sealed for the rest of the run.
Mechanics
A two-tier, ten-bottle-and-one-box release board with three special bottle types: a tall four-panel pink/coral wooden lock box at the top center (each stripe panel satisfied by one different top color poured into the box), two '?' sticky wraps in the bottom row at B2 and B3 (fogged four-segment bottles whose contents reveal when a matching color is poured in), and two more sticky wraps that drop out of the lock box's hidden payload (the new top-row T1 and T3, also fogged and cracked by a red pour). The chokepoint is the four-color box pour sequence: bank dark blue from B1 onto T1 to free a buffer, feed dark blue, purple, yellow and pink into the four stripe panels of the box in that order to crack it, then unwrap the two new sticky wraps with red and finish the merge into ten single-color lanes plus two empties. The skill is sequencing the four box colors so a buffer is always free when the next stripe needs to be satisfied, and never pouring a non-matching color into a sticky wrap because the wrap is the only way to surface the pink and red that the box's last two stripes need.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you open the four-panel pink/coral lock box in Magic Sort Level 311?

Pour one top color into each of the four vertical stripe panels in this order: dark blue first (bank B1's dark blue onto T1, then pour T1's blue into the bottom stripe), purple second (B4 into the second stripe), yellow third (B5's yellow into B1, then B5's exposed purple into the third stripe), and pink fourth (the revealed pink from the unwrapped sticky wrap into the top stripe). When the fourth stripe is satisfied, the four stripes glow, the padlock drops and the box shatters to release four new top-row bottles.

  • Why are the two '?' sticky wraps at B2 and B3 the chokepoint in Level 311?

Both sticky wraps hide their actual contents behind a fogged overlay, and they are the only sources of pink and red on the entire board. The lock box's fourth stripe panel must be fed pink, and the new top-row T1 and T3 sticky wraps that drop out of the box must be unwrapped with red — pour a non-matching color into either of the bottom sticky wraps and the wrap seals tighter, leaving the box's last stripe and the box's new sticky wraps uncrackable for the rest of the run.
