Sand Blocks level guide
Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 317 Walkthrough
Level 317 is a counted chamber level: a 5x4 grey chamber with a central divider sits under a magenta reservoir behind a 30 shutter, and the 5 and 10 shutters below step in lockstep with it. The chamber has to empty before the yellow feed and the yellow lock pair become reachable.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 317 — Full Solution
- Wait out the HARD LEVEL card (about 0:05). Read the counters 30 on the chamber shutter, 5 on the middle shutter and 10 on the lower shutter, and do not touch the lower board.
- Drag the cyan receiver onto the chamber floor at about 0:07, leaving c1 r1-r2 free for the green 1x2 key receiver.
- Let the magenta reservoir run from 0:09; the chamber counter steps 30 to 29 and the 5 and 10 shutters step to 4 and 9 at the same moment.
- Fill the green 1x2 key receiver at c1 r1-r2 to 100% from the stream's left edge, waiting for the full 0% to 100% animation before the next drag.
- Fill the red 1x2 receiver at c7 r1-r2 from the right edge; its clear steps the 5 and 10 shutters again.
- Keep the divider column of the chamber empty until the 30 counter reaches 0; the pink shutter then rolls fully up and exposes the middle of the board.
- After the chamber retracts, the second counter set reads 19 on the pink bar, 9 on the grey left shutter and 16 on the bottom bar. Park the yellow T receiver under the new yellow feed and let it fill so the 19 bar steps 19, 17, 15, 13.
- Move the green receivers down into the c1 cavity the chamber retraction opened; each green clear steps the left shutter 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 and the bottom bar 16, 15, 14, 13.
- Bring the black 0% receivers from the middle-right of the frame into the opened chamber cells once the 19 bar passes 13.
- Clear the yellow T before feeding the yellow key receiver: the lock badge on the yellow block only turns over after the T has gone.
- Drain the bottom bar from 12 through 10, 9, 8 and 7 while the left shutter runs 3, 2, 1, which opens the orange inlet on the right and the green inlet on the left.
- Finish the last green and orange pieces, confirm every receiver is gone and the board animates empty before the SAND BLOCKS card.
Colors in this level:
Magenta, Pink, Green, Cyan, Red, Yellow, Orange, Black, Purple
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Parking the cyan L on the chamber's centre divider, which freezes the 30 counter and both lower shutters.
- Dragging anything into the 5 or 10 shutters while the 30 chamber is still closed.
- Feeding the yellow key receiver before the yellow T has cleared, which leaves the lock badge unturned.
Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 317 (quick clues)
- Watch the 30 counter, not the receivers: the 5 and 10 shutters step with it, so a frozen 30 means a blocked chamber floor.
- Only the green key 1x2 at c1 r1-r2 and the red 1x2 at c7 r1-r2 are safely fillable while the chamber is still closed.
- Keep the chamber's centre divider column empty or the magenta stream has nowhere to fall.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- Magenta reservoir on top drops into a 5-column by 4-row grey chamber split by a fixed centre divider, closed by a pink shutter reading 30. Green 1x2 key receiver at c1 r1-r2; cyan L at c1 r3-r4 plus c2 r4; red 1x2 at c7 r1-r2; green L at c6 r3 plus c7 r3-r4. Below: shutter 5, shutter 10, an orange inlet from the right and a green inlet from the left.
- Goal
- Fill the 30 chamber so the pink shutter retracts and the middle of the board opens, then take the yellow feed with the yellow T receiver and finish the lock pair on the yellow block.
- Opening
- The HARD LEVEL card hides the board until about 0:05. A cyan receiver is dragged onto the chamber floor at about 0:07 and the magenta reservoir starts dropping at 0:09, stepping 30/5/10 to 29/4/9 together.
- Danger Zone
- Parking the cyan L on the divider column instead of the chamber floor stops the magenta flow dead: the 30 counter freezes, the 5 and 10 shutters never move and the orange inlet on the right stays sealed.
- Mechanics
- A 30-unit counted chamber with a central divider, three linked roller shutters (30, 5, 10), a second counter set (19 / 9 / 16) revealed after the chamber retracts, a mid-level yellow feed, and a yellow lock-and-key pair.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do the 5 and 10 shutters move at the same time as the 30 chamber?
They are chained: chamber progress drives all three, so the middle and lower shutters step whenever the chamber counter steps.
What is trapped behind the 30 shutter?
The whole middle of the board plus the second counter set (19 pink bar, 9 grey left shutter, 16 bottom bar) and the yellow feed that appears once the chamber retracts.
When is the yellow lock pair playable?
Only after the 19 bar has stepped down through 13; clear the yellow T first and then fill the yellow key receiver.
