Magic Sort Level 221 Walkthrough

hard Target: 34 moves 8 colors

Magic Sort Level 221 is a cork-heavy board with six pink-corked bottles on the top row and a padlocked pair on the bottom right. Pop the corks one at a time, drain the green-pink, yellow-pink and yellow-brown mixers, and use the unlocked padlock slots to bank orange, blue, purple, green, red and brown into single lanes.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 221 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the green off the bottom green-pink mixer to start the green stack, then drop the pink segment alone into the empty fourth bottle in the bottom row to isolate pink.
  2. Pop the leftmost pink cork on the top row and let the revealed orange top fall into the same empty buffer to seed the orange stack.
  3. Pour the yellow from the yellow-pink mixer onto the matching yellow segment of the orange stack, then drop the pink that surfaces onto the pink buffer to free a slot.
  4. Pop the second-from-the-right pink cork to release its orange, then pour that orange onto the existing orange stack to consolidate the pair and unlock a second padlock slot.
  5. Drain the small yellow-brown mixer — yellow first onto the yellow stack, then brown alone into the newly unlocked second padlock slot to bank brown.
  6. Pop the remaining three corks in order from the outside in, routing each revealed color (blue, purple, green, red) onto its own stack as the buffer count allows.
  7. Use the two unlocked padlock slots and any cleared corked bottle as buffers to top off blue, purple, green and red into single-color lanes.
  8. Finish with all eight distinct colors sorted into eight single bottles and the four cleared bottles left empty as spare buffers.

Colors in this level:

Green, Yellow, Pink, Brown, Orange, Blue, Purple, Red

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Popping two corks back to back before the first revealed color has its own clean slot, which buries one of the top colors under the other.
  • Clearing the yellow-brown mixer in the wrong order, leaving brown trapped under the yellow segment with no padlock slot open to receive it.
  • Forgetting to consolidate the two revealed oranges onto the same stack, which costs a buffer slot at the moment the brown release needs it most.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 221 (spoiler-free)

  • Pop the corks one at a time, only as their matching colors become available.
  • Clear the yellow-brown mixer yellow-first, then route brown into a freshly unlocked padlock.
  • Use the unlocked padlock slots and any cleared corked bottle as buffers, never let two revealed top colors share one.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Two tiers, twelve bottles total. The top row is six corked bottles, all sealed with pink coral corks and "?" mystery marks. The bottom row holds a green-over-pink mixer on the far left, a yellow-over-pink medium bottle, a small yellow-over-brown bottle, one empty buffer, and two gold-padlocked empties on the right. Zero free empties at the start.
Goal
Pop all six pink corks in order, then drain the three bottom two-color mixers so every distinct color lands in its own single-color bottle. The real chokepoint is timing each cork pop with the padlock unlocks in the bottom row.
Opening
Pour the green off the green-pink mixer to start the green stack, then drop the pink segment alone into the empty fourth bottle. Pop the leftmost pink cork so its revealed orange lands in the same empty buffer to seed the orange stack.
Danger Zone
Never pop a second cork before the first revealed color has a clean slot of its own — two revealed top colors landing in the same unlocked padlock will trap the next pour. The small yellow-brown mixer must be cleared yellow-first, then brown alone, or brown strands itself between yellow and pink.
Mechanics
Six identical pink corks hiding six different single-color reveals, plus a pair of gold padlock bottles that unlock partway through the run. No magic bottles, no wooden boxes and no wraps — the puzzle is cork timing plus bottom-row mix management.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How many corks are on Magic Sort Level 221 and how do you pop them?

There are six pink corks on the top row. Each cork pops when its matching color is poured in from the bottom, releasing a single-color reveal (orange, blue, purple, green, red or a second orange) that then joins the sort.

  • Why are the two bottom-right bottles padlocked at the start of Level 221?

They are extra buffer slots that stay locked until the pink and brown segments have left their mixers. Once unlocked they become the only reliable spare lanes for routing orange, brown and the later cork reveals without trapping a pour.
