How to Solve Magic Sort Level 217 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the yellow top out of the leftmost corked middle bottle into a clean buffer, then pop that cork to confirm the hidden yellow underneath.
  2. Use the freed yellow lane to start collecting yellow tops and pour the matching red caps from the bottom row onto each other to pop the red corks.
  3. Pop the blue corks in the bottom row one at a time, routing each revealed blue onto the brown-empty middle bottle to start a blue lane.
  4. Open the curtain — four new bottles drop, two small white magic bottles and two orange-pink mixers.
  5. Pour the orange and pink tops from the curtain mixers into the two white magic bottles, keeping each magic bottle to one color so neither locks.
  6. Use the now-empty curtain-mixer bottles as buffers to finish sorting the remaining blues onto a single lane.
  7. Top off yellow, brown, red, green, blue, cyan, orange, pink and purple into single bottles to finish the level.

Colors in this level:

Yellow, Red, Brown, Blue, Green, Cyan, Orange, Pink, Purple

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring two different colors into one white magic bottle, which locks your only flexible overflow just when orange and pink from the curtain need a home.
  • Popping a red or blue cork before you have a matching lane for the hidden color, stranding the revealed blue or green on top of the wrong stack.
  • Pouring yellow into a green-dot corked buffer, which burns the buffer you need for the next color in the sequence.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 217 (spoiler-free)

  • Park orange and pink into the two white magic bottles the moment the curtain opens, before the rest of the palette forces you to use them as cleanup.
  • Pop the corks in an order that gives each revealed color an immediate matching lane — never pop a cork before you have somewhere for the hidden color to go.
  • Keep every buffer single-color and clear it onto a real stack before you reuse it.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Three tiers with thirteen bottles. A pink curtain with a question-mark lock sits across the top and hides four bottles until it opens. The middle tier is four corked bottles — a yellow with a green-dot cork on top, a near-empty brown, and two dark near-empty buffers, all with green-dot corks. The bottom tier is five corked mystery bottles, each showing a colored cap (red, red, dark, dark, red) with "?" segments stacked beneath. The curtain reveals two small white magic bottles and two orange-pink mixers when it drops.
Goal
Pop the bottom corks to reveal the blue, green and red hidden underneath, then open the curtain to release the two white magic bottles and the two orange-pink mixers. The real chokepoint is parking orange and pink into the two magic bottles before the rest of the palette needs them as cleanup, and timing the cork pops so each revealed color has a matching lane.
Opening
Start with the middle tier. Pour the yellow top out of the leftmost corked bottle into a clean buffer, then pop that cork to confirm the hidden yellow. Pour the matching red caps from the bottom row onto each other to pop the red corks and reveal the blue, green and red underneath. Once the bottom corks are popped the curtain opens and the magic bottles become available.
Danger Zone
The two white magic bottles are flexible overflow but each must finish on a single color — pour two different colors into one and it locks, costing your only overflow slot just when the orange and pink from the curtain need a home. Also, popping a cork before you have a matching lane for the hidden color strands the revealed color, and pouring yellow into a green-dot corked buffer will burn the buffer you need for the next color.
Mechanics
Curtain + corked bottles + two white magic bottles on a three-tier board. The lower row hides the bulk of the palette behind multiple corks, the curtain drops two magic bottles as flexible overflow once the lower row is opened, and the curtain mixers (orange and pink) only have those magic bottles as homes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do the corked bottom bottles work in Magic Sort Level 217?

Each bottom bottle shows a colored cap on top with "?" segments stacked beneath. Pour the matching top color in to pop the cork and reveal the hidden color. Pop the corks in an order that gives each revealed color an immediate matching lane, or the hidden color strands on the wrong stack.

  • When does the curtain open in Level 217 and what does it drop?

The curtain opens once the bottom corks are popped and the curtain condition is met. It reveals four new bottles — two small white magic bottles that act as flexible overflow and two orange-pink mixers. Park the orange and pink into the two magic bottles before the rest of the palette forces you to use them as cleanup.
