Magic Sort Level 413 Walkthrough

hard Target: 44 moves 9 colors

Magic Sort Level 413 is a tight two-tier, eleven-position lock-pair board with two four-color mixers (orange/yellow/black/pink at T1, purple/orange/brown/black at T5) and two gated lock bottles in B2 and B3 that each need a full red pour to pop. Drain the T1 four-color mixer through the two starting empties, stack red onto both lock bottles to release their stored purple, then collapse the T5 four-color mixer through the freed lock slots and merge the two black bases into a single bottle.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 413 — Full Solution

  1. Pour the top orange off T1 onto the matching orange layer in T5 to start the orange lane, then pour the next yellow off T1 onto the same T5 so orange and yellow both park on T5 and the T1 stack drops to a black/pink base.
  2. Pour the pink off T1 onto the T2 blue/yellow/blue mixer's matching top so pink lands on the matching top, and pour the bottom black off T1 onto the freed T3 empty so black parks on its own flask.
  3. Pour the top yellow off T2 down onto the freed T4 empty to start a yellow lane, then pour the rest of T2 (blue/yellow base) onto a matching blue target so T2 becomes a clean blue buffer.
  4. Stack red tops onto the B2 lock bottle by pouring the red off B5 onto B2 until the keyhole unlocks, then pour another red onto the B3 lock bottle to pop it as well — the two lock bottles each release a single-color purple flask into ready-made landing lanes.
  5. Pour the top purple off T5 onto the released B2 purple, then the orange off T5 onto the freed T-row buffer, then the brown off T5 onto a freed T-row buffer, and finally the bottom black off T5 onto the T3 black flask so the two black bases collapse into a single bottle.
  6. Use the two freed lock slots and the two starting empties to top off red, blue, green, yellow, pink, purple, orange and brown each into a single bottle.
  7. Clear the B6 purple/orange two-segment flask top-first — pour the purple top onto the released B3 purple, then the orange base onto the matching orange lane.
  8. Top off black, red, blue, green, yellow, pink, purple, orange and brown each into its own bottle so all eleven positions end on a single color with no locks left.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring the bottom black off T1 into the B1 blue/yellow mixer, which strands the only spare dark on a mismatched two-color stack with no way to recover it before T5's black base is freed.
  • Pouring red onto a lock bottle before stacking a full red on top of the B5 red/purple flask, which keeps the keyhole indicator unfilled and strands the stored purple inside the lock.
  • Pouring the top purple off T5 into the wrong bottom row flask, which strands the only spare purple outside the released lock bottles on a mismatched orange or red stack and burns the buffer the second lock bottle needs.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 413 (spoiler-free)

  • Pour the bottom black off T1 onto the freed T3 empty before you touch T5, so the only spare dark on the board has a clean target before T5's black base is exposed.
  • Treat the two lock bottles in B2 and B3 as a paired unlock — stack red on B2 first, then red on B3, and use the released purple as the landing lane for T5's purple top in the same pass.
  • Keep the B6 purple/orange two-segment flask for last — its purple top is the only spare purple outside the released lock bottles, and it has to land on the B2-released purple before the orange base can park on its own lane.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Two tiers, eleven bottle positions, no spray cans, wraps, boxes, corks or magic overflow. The top row is five bottles — T1 a four-segment orange/yellow/black/pink mixer, T2 a three-segment blue/yellow/blue mixer, T3 an empty flask, T4 an empty flask, and T5 a four-segment purple/orange/brown/black mixer with a black base. The bottom row is six bottles — B1 a blue/yellow two-segment flask, B2 a small white lock bottle with a red cap and a keyhole icon parked in column 2, B3 a second small white lock bottle with a red cap and a keyhole icon parked in column 3, B4 a short single green flask, B5 a red/purple two-segment flask, and B6 a purple/orange two-segment flask. Two starting empties (T3, T4), no other buffers. The two lock bottles in B2 and B3 are the only special tiles on the board.
Goal
Pop both lock bottles in B2 and B3 by stacking red onto each one, then drain the T1 orange/yellow/black/pink and T5 purple/orange/brown/black four-color mixers through the two starting empties and the freed lock slots until all eleven positions end on a single color. The real chokepoint is the two black bases — one buried at the bottom of T1 and one buried at the bottom of T5 — because they are the only spare dark segments on the board and they have to land on a single clean target, but every move that touches the lock bottles eats a buffer the dark merge needs.
Opening
Pour the top orange off T1 onto the matching orange layer in T5, then pour the next yellow off T1 onto the same T5. Pour the pink off T1 onto the T2 blue/yellow/blue mixer's matching top, and pour the bottom black off T1 onto the freed T3 empty so black parks cleanly on its own flask. Pour the top yellow off T2 down onto the freed T4 empty to start a yellow lane, then pour the blue/blue base of T2 onto a matching blue target.
Danger Zone
Pouring the bottom black off T1 into the B1 blue/yellow mixer strands the only spare dark on a mismatched two-color stack with no way to recover it before T5's black base is freed. Pouring the top purple off T5 into the wrong bottom row flask strands the only spare purple on a mismatched orange or red stack and burns the buffer the lock bottles need. Pouring red onto a lock bottle before you have stacked at least one full red on top of the B5 red/purple flask means the keyhole indicator never fills, the lock stays sealed, and the stored purple never enters the sort.
Mechanics
A two-tier lock-pair board on a four-color pair of mixers. The two lock bottles in B2 and B3 are gated payouts, not buffers: each one accepts red on top, and once the red pour lands the keyhole pops and the stored purple is released into a ready-made landing lane. The T1 and T5 four-color mixers are the only real drainers, and every move that touches them also eats one of the two starting empties, so the two lock bottles have to be opened between the two mixer drains, not before or after both. The whole puzzle order is pop the first lock to free a landing lane, drain the T1 mixer to recover the empties, then pop the second lock to release the second payout, with the two black bases collapsing into a single bottle as the closer.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you open the two lock bottles in B2 and B3 in Magic Sort Level 413?

Stack red tops onto each lock bottle until the keyhole indicator fills. The cleanest source is the red on top of the B5 red/purple flask — pour the B5 red onto B2 to pop the first lock, then build a second red on top of B3 from the B6 purple/orange flask or from a T-row buffer to pop the second lock. Each lock releases a single-color purple flask that becomes a ready-made landing lane for T5's purple top.

  • Why is the dark merge between T1 and T5 the chokepoint in Level 413?

The board has exactly two black segments — one buried at the bottom of T1 and one buried at the bottom of T5 — and every other top color on the board already has a clean lane. If the bottom black off T1 lands on the B1 blue/yellow mixer, the only spare dark on the board is stranded on a mismatched two-color stack, and when T5's black base is finally exposed there is no clean target to merge it onto. Pour the T1 black onto the freed T3 empty first so the dark lane is already open before T5's black base is freed.
