Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 18 Walkthrough

expert 4 colors

Level 18 combines a descending red staircase with horizontal arrow bars and pale counters marked 8, 8, and 2. Follow every visible counter stage, open the cyan cells with blue, yellow, and green fills, then clear the red stair cells before the isolated upper-left yellow mound.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 18 — Full Solution

  1. Slide the upper-center two-cell yellow receiver left into the open row as a parking move; keep the cyan slabs at 8 / 8 / 2.
  2. Drag the three-cell red arrow receiver from middle-right beneath the highest reachable red stair and hold it through the fall; the labels become 7 / 7 / 1.
  3. Move the short green horizontal receiver from top-center left under the exposed green strip and clear it; the labels become 6 / 6 and the two-cell 2 slab opens.
  4. Take the red arrow receiver directly left of the cyan slabs across the middle to the next red stair and clear it; verify 5 / 5.
  5. Drag the red arrow receiver from the lower-left stack to the next right-hand red notch and wait for its fill; verify 4 / 4.
  6. Lift the upper yellow bar into the left catch row, then raise the bottom-center tall green receiver into the freed center column; both are positioning moves and 4 / 4 stays visible.
  7. Slide the bottom red arrow bar to the lowest open right shelf and leave the center clear for the vertical blue piece; 4 / 4 stays visible.
  8. Raise the one-by-three blue receiver from bottom-right through the center to the right side of the blue band and clear it; the labels become 3 / 3.
  9. Move the long blue horizontal receiver from the lower-left lane upward and right beneath the exposed blue shelf; its clear produces 2 / 2.
  10. Drag the middle yellow horizontal receiver beneath the top-center yellow fall and let it empty; the labels become 1 / 1.
  11. Lift the tall green receiver from the lower-right side to the left edge of the green wedge and clear it; both 1 slabs disappear and their cyan cells open.
  12. Move the blue horizontal receiver through the opened left cells and beneath the exposed blue pocket, then wait for its disappearance.
  13. Slide the upper yellow receiver under the top-center yellow mound, collect that fall, and return it to the left lane.
  14. Raise the second tall green receiver from bottom-center to the upper-left green edge and hold it through the green fall.
  15. Drag the red one-cell receiver exposed at the left counter opening across the empty center to the highest right stair and clear it.
  16. Move the red one-cell receiver exposed on the upper-right step down to the next red stair and clear it.
  17. Drag the red one-cell receiver from the middle-right step into the next lower red pocket and wait for its disappearance.
  18. Place the red one-cell receiver from the lower-right step beneath the bottom red pocket; the right staircase is empty after this fill.
  19. Move the two-cell yellow receiver from the lower-left lane to the upper-left catch row beneath the isolated yellow mound.
  20. Hold the yellow receiver there until the last grains settle, it disappears, and the empty-board completion animation begins.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Parking a three-cell yellow bar across the center while a tall blue receiver still needs to cross.
  • Using the upper-left counter cells before their decrement animations finish.

Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 18 (quick clues)

  • Clear every long bar immediately after it fills so the vertical receivers retain the crossing row.
  • Leave the separate upper-left yellow pile until the 8/8/2 slabs have opened its catch cells.

Layout
An eight-column stepped board has yellow above green-left and blue-center bands, plus a tall red reservoir descending the upper-right stairs. Two- and three-cell red/yellow bars fill the center; green and blue horizontal/vertical receivers occupy the outer lanes; pale slabs marked 8, 8, and 2 block the upper-left route.
Goal
Remove the red staircase one bar at a time while clearing the exposed center colors and decrementing the three pale slabs. The last yellow receiver moves into the upper-left row after the counters vanish.
Opening
Park the upper-center yellow bar left, clear the middle-right red arrow bar for 7/7/1, then clear the short top-center green receiver for 6/6 and the disappearance of the 2 slab.
Danger Zone
The long red and yellow receivers share the only wide crossing row. A filled bar left there traps both vertical blue and green receivers.
Mechanics
Three pale counters (8, 8, and a two-cell 2 slab) decrement as receivers clear. Several horizontal red receivers are explicitly axis-marked, and the red source descends as a staircase.
