Colony Flow! Level 30 Walkthrough

medium 8 colors

Colony Flow Level 30 is a coconut scene where the sand strip, palm leaves, shell, white flesh, sky, and outline all compete for the same route, so the early yellow and dark-green openers have to protect the later shell colors.

Board Notes

Layout
The board opens in portrait view. The top half of the screen holds a pixel-art tropical coconut scene: a round brown coconut shell with a bright white flesh circle in the middle, a small cluster of green palm leaves with a short brown stem sticking out of the top of the coconut, a soft yellow sand strip across the bottom, a light blue sky background with two small white cloud cells in the upper-left, and a thin dark outline wrapping the whole silhouette. Below the dirt strip the working area is a 5-cell top row plus three 3-cell source rows underneath. The 5-cell top row opens as yellow 28, dark green 100, empty white buffer, empty white buffer, empty white buffer. The second row reads light blue 40, brown 45, white 45. The third row reads light blue 17, gray 45, black 35. The fourth row reads light yellow 30, light blue 35, brown 50.
Goal
Dark green cubes from the dark green 100 stack in the top row must fill the green palm-leaf cluster at the top of the coconut. Brown cubes from the brown 45 in the second row and the brown 50 in the fourth row must fill the round brown coconut shell and the short brown stem. White cubes from the white 45 in the second row must fill the bright white flesh circle in the middle of the coconut. Light blue cubes from the light blue 40 in the second row, the light blue 17 in the third row, and the light blue 35 in the fourth row must fill the light blue sky background and the two pale blue sky squares in the upper-right. Yellow cubes from the yellow 28 in the top row plus the light yellow 30 in the fourth row must fill the soft yellow sand strip across the bottom. Black cubes from the black 35 in the third row must trace the dark outline wrapping the coconut silhouette. Gray cubes from the gray 45 in the third row must close the few small gray accent cells scattered on the leaf and the stem.
Opening
The run opens with the yellow 28 stack at the far left of the 5-cell top row. Yellow 28 is the smallest numbered stack in the top row and the yellow sand strip is the smallest feature of the pixel art, so opening with yellow 28 dispatches a yellow ant up the dirt path and the sand cells closest to the ant hole start closing in the first beat. The second confirmed tap is the dark green 100 stack right next to it in the second cell of the top row, which sends dark green ants up the same dirt path and starts filling the green palm-leaf cluster at the top of the coconut. The third confirmed tap is the black 35 stack in the third row, third cell, which sends black ants up the dirt path to start drawing the dark outline wrapping the coconut silhouette. The three empty white buffer slots in the top row (cells 3, 4, and 5) are kept open so the rising white, light blue, and brown refills can land cleanly as the active row drains. The brown 45, the white 45, the light blue 40, the light blue 17, the light blue 35, the gray 45, the light yellow 30, and the brown 50 are all held for one beat so the yellow, dark green, and black waves can clear the perimeter of the coconut before any shell, flesh, sky, or sand color is sent.
Danger Zone
Most failed runs start at the three empty white buffer slots in the top row (cells 3, 4, and 5 of the 5-cell top row). The video shows those three slots being filled with rising refills (white, light blue, brown) in quick succession, and if the player taps those rising refills before the yellow sand strip and the dark green palm-leaf cluster are at least half-closed, white and light blue ants get stranded behind active yellow and dark green ants on the perimeter and the white flesh circle plus the light blue sky squares never close. The other trap is firing the brown 45 in the second row while dark green ants are still walking the dirt path up to the leaf cluster, because brown ants use the same dirt path as the dark green ants and a premature brown click strands brown ants on the still-empty coconut shell and blocks the brown 50 refill in the fourth row that needs to reach the shell. Tapping the light blue 40 in the second row before the dark green palm-leaf cluster is mostly closed is also bad, because light blue ants cross the leaf cells that the dark green has to fill and stall on the still-empty leaf cells at the top of the art. Letting the white 45 refill rise into the top row before the dark green outline is at least half-closed strands white ants on the still-empty coconut shell cells and blocks the brown 50 refill waiting behind it.
Mechanics
Level 30 is a multi-stack color-routing board combined with a pixel-art completion goal and a single ant hole, with a coconut-on-the-beach scene that is the most colorful tropical setup the run has used so far. The 5-cell top row plus three 3-cell source rows underneath makes this a wide 11-stack working area with three empty white buffer slots, so almost every tap immediately changes a route. The coconut pixel art has seven main color families (dark green palm leaves, brown coconut shell and stem, white flesh circle, light blue sky background, yellow sand strip, black outline, gray accent) plus the late refill waves, and the player has to keep all of those routes staged at once. The 5-cell top row is the active queue that pre-holds the yellow 28 and the dark green 100 from the start, and the three 3-cell source rows underneath it act as the supply that refills the active row as stacks are sent. The three empty white buffer slots are the real staging space here, so the last small white refill, the late light blue refill, the small light yellow 30 refill, and the brown 50 refill still need a clean delivery after the bottom of the grid looks clear. Compared to Level 29's crowned frog board, the coconut scene is wider, has a much larger dark green palm-leaf region, and has a brown-on-yellow shell-and-sand contrast that forces the player to keep the empty buffer slots open for the late refill waves instead of using them as active stack spaces.

Quick Tips for Colony Flow! Level 30 (spoiler-free)

  • Tap the yellow 28, dark green 100, and black 35 in that order so the yellow sand strip, the dark green palm-leaf cluster, and the dark outline close together before any white flesh, brown shell, light blue sky, or gray accent color is allowed onto the dirt path.
  • Keep the three empty white buffer slots in the top row open for the rising white, light blue, and brown refills. The video shows those slots being filled with refills in quick succession, and filling them with a brown 45, light blue 40, or white 45 click strands the refill waves and leaves the white flesh circle, the light blue sky squares, and the brown shell cells empty.
  • Save the white 45, the brown 45, the brown 50, the light blue 40, the light blue 17, the light blue 35, the light yellow 30, and the gray 45 for the mid-to-late game. They are the flesh, shell, sky, sand, and accent colors, and the win cue is the full coconut image, not an empty play area.

How to Solve Colony Flow! Level 30 — Full Solution

  1. Tap the yellow 28 stack at the far left of the 5-cell top row. Yellow ants walk the dirt path up to the soft yellow sand strip across the bottom of the coconut, and the sand cells closest to the ant hole start closing in the first beat. Wait for the first yellow ants to clear the bottom edge of the art before tapping the next stack.
  2. Tap the dark green 100 stack in the second cell of the top row. Dark green ants walk the same dirt path and start filling the green palm-leaf cluster at the top of the coconut. Yellow and dark green share the path, so leave one beat between them so the sand cells are mostly closed before the leaf cells start filling.
  3. Tap the black 35 stack in the third row, third cell. Black ants walk the dirt path and start drawing the dark outline wrapping the coconut silhouette. Dark green and black share the path, so leave one beat between the dark green wave and the black wave so the leaf cluster is mostly colored before the outline starts drawing.
  4. Wait for the yellow, dark green, and black ant waves to clear the dirt path between the ant hole and the bottom edge of the coconut. Do not tap the brown 45, the white 45, the light blue 40, the light blue 17, the light blue 35, the light yellow 30, the gray 45, or the brown 50 yet, and do not let the white refill rise into the top row during this beat.
  5. Tap the white 45 stack in the second row, third cell. White ants walk the dirt path and start closing the bright white flesh circle in the middle of the coconut. White shares the path with every other color, so leave one beat between the white wave and the next dark green or brown refill that rises into the active queue.
  6. Tap the brown 45 stack in the second row, second cell, then the brown 50 stack in the fourth row, third cell, as it rises into the active row. Brown ants walk the dirt path and start filling the round brown coconut shell and the short brown stem at the top. Brown and white share the path, so leave one beat between the brown wave and the next white refill.
  7. Tap the light blue 40 stack in the second row, first cell, then the light blue 17 stack in the third row, first cell, then the light blue 35 stack in the fourth row, second cell, then the light yellow 30 stack in the fourth row, first cell. Light blue ants walk the dirt path and start filling the light blue sky background and the two pale blue sky squares in the upper-right of the art, and the light yellow ants close the last yellow sand accent cells. Light blue and brown share the path, so leave one beat between the light blue wave and the next brown refill.
  8. Finish by tapping the gray 45 stack in the third row, second cell, plus the late white, light blue, brown, and light yellow refill waves that rise into the three empty white buffer slots in the top row. Gray ants close the few small gray accent cells on the leaf and the stem, white ants close the last flesh circle cells, light blue ants close the last sky squares, and brown ants close the last shell and stem cells. The coconut silhouette is complete once the last matching cube lands and the level banner appears.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Filling the three empty white buffer slots in the top row with a brown 45, light blue 40, or white 45 click before the yellow 28, dark green 100, and black 35 waves have cleared the perimeter of the coconut, which strands white and light blue ants behind active yellow and dark green ants on the perimeter and leaves the white flesh circle plus the light blue sky squares empty.
  • Firing the brown 45 in the second row while dark green ants are still walking the dirt path up to the leaf cluster, which strands brown ants on the still-empty coconut shell and blocks the brown 50 refill in the fourth row that needs to reach the shell.
  • Tapping the light blue 40 in the second row before the dark green palm-leaf cluster is mostly closed, which sends light blue ants across the leaf cells that the dark green has to fill and stalls them on the still-empty leaf cells at the top of the art.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which opening tap keeps Colony Flow Level 30 clean?

Start with the yellow 28 stack at the far left of the 5-cell top row, then the dark green 100 right next to it, and then the black 35 in the third row, third cell. This closes the yellow sand strip, the dark green palm-leaf cluster, and the dark outline together before any white flesh, brown shell, light blue sky, or gray accent color is allowed onto the dirt path. Tap the white 45, the brown 45, the light blue 40, the light blue 17, the light blue 35, the light yellow 30, the gray 45, or the brown 50 only after the yellow, dark green, and black waves have cleared the perimeter of the coconut.

  • Why does the brown 45 stack jam the route in Colony Flow Level 30?

The brown 45 stack in the second row uses the same dirt path as the dark green 100 stack in the top row, and the round brown coconut shell plus the short brown stem only sit in cells that are still open while the dark green palm-leaf cluster is closing. If brown ants are sent before the leaf cluster is at least half-closed, they stall on the still-empty shell cells, the brown 50 refill waiting in the fourth row cannot reach the shell, and the white 45 refill that has to rise into the top row gets stranded behind active dark green and brown ants on the perimeter. Tap brown 45 only after the dark green 100 wave has cleared the perimeter of the leaf cluster.
