Pink cubes from the pink 17 and pink 19 in the active row, the pink 45 and pink 36 in source row 1, the pink 12 in source row 2, and the late pink refills must close the two pink ear and cheek regions on the left and right of the face. Cyan cubes from the cyan 22 in source row 2, the cyan 13 and cyan 45 in source row 3, and the late cyan refills must close the teal-and-cyan checkered body. Blue cubes from the blue 40 in source row 1, the blue 34 in source row 2, the blue 34 in source row 3, and the late blue refills must close the small blue body highlight cells. Opening
The board starts with the purple 12 stack in the first cell of the 4-cell active row. The other trap is firing the blue 40 stack in source row 1 while pink ants are still walking the dirt path up to the pink ears, because blue ants use the same dirt path as the pink ants and a premature blue click strands blue ants on the still-empty blue body highlight cells and blocks the blue 34 in source row 2 plus the blue 34 in source row 3 that need to close the rest of the body highlights. Tapping the cyan 22 in source row 2 before the pink ears are at least half-closed is also bad, because cyan ants share the dirt path with pink ants and stall on the still-empty teal body cells. Letting the blue 40 in source row 1 rise into the active row before the pink ears are mostly closed strands blue ants on the still-empty body highlight cells and blocks the late blue refill waves that have to surface from the lower source rows.
Mechanics
Level 49 is a multi-stack color-routing board combined with a pixel-art completion goal and a single ant hole, with a 2-tier pink-and-teal character portrait scene. The 4-cell top active row plus the 3-row, 3-column source grid makes this a 13-stack working area with exactly one empty white buffer pad, so almost every tap immediately changes a route.
