Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 358 Walkthrough

expert 8 colors

Level 358 carries the game's Hard label and a 1:40 clock. Two tanks sit side by side at the top and change colour as their pipes feed them; a shutter marked 4 hides the middle of the board, and two dispensers at the bottom each hold three pieces. Three clock-stamped receivers add five seconds each, which is what makes the tight timer workable.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 358 — Full Solution

  1. At about 1:40 on the timer the white bar under the left tank fills and clears; the shutter drops from 4 to 3.
  2. At about 1:39 slide the yellow 1x1s under the right tank and the white 1x1 under the left one; a yellow is 100% at 1:37 (shutter 2), the white and second yellow finish at 1:36 and the shutter lifts at 1:35.
  3. Between about 1:34 and 1:20 shuffle the revealed middle: the left tank now holds green with blue coming in behind it.
  4. At about 1:19 lift a green bar under the left tank: 25% at 1:19, cleared at 1:18.
  5. At about 1:07 work the blue clock bar up to c2-c3 r3; it fills from 1:03 and is 100% at 1:01. The clock flies to the timer and adds five seconds, so the timer reads 1:05 again.
  6. At about 0:50 park the yellow L under the right tank; it is 74% at 0:49 and takes the rest of the yellow by about 0:46. The right tank turns brown.
  7. At about 0:43 set the blue L under the left tank: 17% at 0:43, 44% at 0:42, 71% at 0:41, cleared at 0:40.
  8. At about 0:37 pull the green bar out of the left dispenser (badge 2); it fills at c2-c3 r3 and is 100% at 0:32. The left tank turns purple.
  9. At about 0:31 the left dispenser gives up a blue vertical (badge 1): 40% at 0:31, 89% at 0:30, taking the last blue.
  10. At about 0:28 the purple L is 100% under the left tank and the purple vertical and bar follow.
  11. At about 0:26 feed the brown bar (45%, then 100% at 0:25) and the brown L (84% at 0:24) to the right tank; it turns cyan, and the cyan bars clear at 0:23 and 0:22.
  12. At about 0:21 the orange clock vertical from the right dispenser fills under the right tank; +5 seconds puts the timer back up to 0:25.
  13. At about 0:25 park the purple clock L from the left dispenser under the left tank: 31% at 0:25, 76% at 0:24, 100% at 0:23 and another +5 seconds (0:27).
  14. At about 0:26 finish the orange L, bar, 1x1 and vertical under the right tank; the board is empty at 0:25.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Filling the brown, cyan or orange pieces early; the right tank only reaches those colours after the yellow L has emptied it.
  • Leaving the purple L or purple bar in the row-3 slot under the left tank while blue is still pouring.
  • Ignoring the clocks: without the three +5 bonuses the 1:40 timer leaves very little slack.
  • Emptying a dispenser before its piece's colour is ready; the clock pieces only pay off when their tank reaches orange or purple.

Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 358 (quick clues)

  • The shutter needs four clears; the white and yellow pieces already next to the tanks cover all four.
  • The blue clock bar is worth +5 seconds; getting it under the left tank early buys breathing room.
  • Watch the pipes: the left one turns blue, then purple, and the right one turns brown, cyan, then orange, just before the tank changes.
  • Save the two dispenser clocks for the end; both come out after 0:30 and each adds another five seconds.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
A cross-shaped board, four columns wide at the top and bottom and six in the middle. The left tank (c2-c3 r1-r2) starts white and the right tank (c4-c5 r1-r2) starts yellow; each pours only into the row-3 cells beneath it. At the start r3-r4 hold an orange vertical at c1, a white bar c2-c3 r3, a cyan bar c4-c5 r3, a purple vertical at c6, and yellow, orange, yellow and white 1x1s along r4. A shutter marked 4 covers the middle rows, and two orange dispensers marked 3 sit at the bottom under c2-c3 and c4-c5.
Goal
Clear four pieces to lift the shutter, then keep both tanks busy as they cycle colours: left white, green, blue, purple; right yellow, brown, cyan, orange. The last pieces come out of the two dispensers.
Opening
The white bar is already under the left tank and clears at 1:40, taking the shutter to 3. Push the yellow 1x1s up under the right tank and the white 1x1 under the left; they finish at 1:37 and 1:36 and the shutter lifts at 1:35.
Danger Zone
Only the row-3 cells under each tank ever receive sand, and the revealed middle is packed with brown, purple, orange and cyan pieces that are not wanted for a long time. Keep a clear path up to row 3 for the blue clock bar and the yellow L, or the tanks sit idle while the timer runs.
Mechanics
Clear-counting shutter, two pipe-fed tanks whose colour changes after each batch, two bottom dispensers (left: green bar, blue vertical, purple clock L; right: pieces ending with an orange clock vertical) and three +5 clock receivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the clock-stamped pieces?

Time bonuses. The blue clock bar, the orange clock vertical and the purple clock L each add five seconds to the timer when they clear.

  • What is in the two boxes at the bottom?

Dispensers with three pieces each. The left one released a green bar, a blue vertical and the purple clock L; the right one's last piece was the orange clock vertical.

  • What does the 4 on the shutter count?

Clears. The white bar, the white 1x1 and two yellow 1x1s bring it to zero and it lifts at about 1:35.
