Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 409 Walkthrough

expert 7 colors

Level 409 runs through three gates: blue and yellow top-feed clears, an orange side-feed cleanup, and a three-key cyan lock. Clear the upper receivers until the blue and yellow shutters open, keep orange pieces against the left side pipe, then fill the three white key receivers before finishing the red and purple pieces.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 409 — Full Solution

  1. At 2:24, place the first blue receiver under the left top feed and a yellow receiver under the right top feed. Keep the red L out of the right yellow lane.
  2. Use the top-right yellow tray on the small yellow square and long yellow bar. The tray counter drops while the blue shutter and lower yellow shutter also move down.
  3. By 2:13, the right tray reads 2, the blue shutter reads 1 and the lower yellow shutter reads 3. Clear one more fast upper receiver before moving pieces below the blue shutter.
  4. Around 1:38, use the left orange side pipe for the tall orange receiver and the orange horizontal receiver on the right. Keep the orange pieces close to the side tray so the sand does not have to travel through the crowded center.
  5. Clear the red L and red square from the upper-right lane after the yellow pieces are out. This keeps the right top feed available for later yellow/white pieces.
  6. At about 1:08, the lower yellow shutter is down to 1. Finish the remaining upper clear and open the lower chamber.
  7. Once the lower chamber opens, pull the white key-marked horizontal receiver under the left/top area and the two white vertical key receivers around the center. The cyan lock marked 3 is now visible.
  8. At 0:38, feed the key receivers. The lock still shows 3 while the left-side orange vertical is at 100%; clear the orange side receiver so it stops blocking the lower-left lane.
  9. Fill the three white key receivers one by one. Each clear contributes to the cyan lock, so do not interrupt this chain with red or purple pieces.
  10. After the cyan lock opens, move the blue bar and yellow vertical into the open lower-right lanes. Use the right top feed for yellow and the left feed for blue/cyan.
  11. Around 0:13, only a red L, a small red receiver and a purple L remain. Keep the red pieces under the left/top red feed and slide the purple L into the open right-side footprint.
  12. Finish the last red and purple receivers before the timer expires. The successful run reaches the reward card shortly after the final clears, with Level 409 shown as the completed level.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Leaving the orange vertical away from the left side pipe. It is still part of the gate chain.
  • Blocking the cyan lock footprint with red pieces before all three white keys are done.
  • Moving the purple L too early; it belongs to the final open-board phase.

Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 409 (quick clues)

  • Use small yellow and blue receivers first to drop the opening counters.
  • Keep orange receivers beside the left side pipe; do not drag them through the center.
  • When the key receivers appear, finish all three before moving red and purple pieces into the lock area.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Tall portrait board with blue sand in the left top feed and yellow sand in the right top feed. The right yellow tray has a glass counter, the middle has a blue shutter, and the lower half is covered by a large yellow shutter marked 3. A left-wall orange pipe feeds a small side tray. The opening board contains a red L, red square, orange vertical and bar receivers, yellow squares and bars, and blue bars along the middle.
Goal
Lower the top and middle counters with blue/yellow/orange receiver clears, open the lower half, then use three white key receivers to unlock the cyan lock marked 3.
Opening
At 2:24 the board shows Level 409 with blue left feed and yellow right feed. At 2:13 the right tray reads 2, the blue shutter reads 1 and the lower yellow shutter still reads 3. At 1:38 the orange side receiver is still active and the upper board is partly cleared.
Danger Zone
The orange side pipe is narrow, and the cyan lock area becomes crowded as soon as the key pieces appear. Keep red and purple pieces out of the lock footprint until the three white key receivers have been filled.
Mechanics
Stacked shutters lead into a key-lock phase. Three white key-marked receivers must clear before the cyan lock marked 3 opens. The left top feed later shifts toward cyan/red while the right top feed keeps yellow/white pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the cyan lock marked 3?

It is the late lock for the three white key-marked receivers. At about 0:38, all three keys are visible around it.

  • Where does the orange sand come from?

From the left-wall side pipe. Keep orange receivers close to that side tray.

  • When does the level finish?

The final clears occur around 0:09, followed by the Level 409 reward card.
