Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 418 Walkthrough

expert 9 colors

Level 418 opens with yellow 5, red 5 and white 4 shutter footprints. Reduce yellow and white first, preserve the red side lane, then clear the green-cyan-purple middle wave before the small magenta-cyan ending.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 418 — Full Solution

  1. Start with the yellow receivers under c3-c6. Keep their sand footprint aligned with the top yellow shutter and let the badge drop before touching the left red lane.
  2. Clear the white receiver at c7-c8 next. Use the far-right cells for white and blue pieces so the c3-c6 top feed remains unobstructed.
  3. Leave the red vertical shutter at c1-c2 alone while the yellow count is falling. Moving a red block into c3-c5 too early creates a cross-board plug.
  4. When the central magenta cross and green square appear around 2:31, clear the small green and cyan receivers on the upper middle rows first.
  5. During the 2:05-1:10 crowded phase, route cyan L pieces through c3-c4, purple bars through c5-c6, and brown verticals down the outer lanes. Wait after each full receiver so the next counter change is visible.
  6. Keep the large green square out of the red shutter lane. It belongs in the middle footprint and should be cleared before the remaining red side pieces are released.
  7. Once the yellow shutter is gone, use the open top centre to clear the remaining green, cyan and purple receivers from top to bottom. Do not stack a blue/white piece under an uncleared purple bar.
  8. Around 1:08-1:00, finish the lower middle receivers and leave the right edge open for the late blue/white feed. The white shutter's last visible piece needs a clean c7-c8 landing.
  9. From about 0:35, consolidate the remaining purple and blue pieces near the upper centre, then let them drain before starting the magenta end phase.
  10. At about 0:23-0:13, feed the final magenta receiver directly below the magenta pipe. It can show a small remaining percentage even when the board looks empty; wait for the last grains to settle.
  11. Finish with the cyan piece below the magenta footprint. The empty-board confirmation arrives around 0:10; do not swipe again after the final clear.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Dragging a red piece across c2-c5 before the yellow and white shutter counts have settled.
  • Stacking the large green square in the red side lane during the crowded middle phase.
  • Swiping again when the magenta receiver looks empty but still has a small amount of sand.

Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 418 (quick clues)

  • Spend the opening on yellow and white while keeping the red side lane untouched.
  • Use c3-c4 for cyan and c5-c6 for purple, with brown verticals on the outer lanes.
  • Wait on the final magenta receiver even when it looks visually empty.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
An approximately eight-column, eleven-row portrait board. The yellow shutter spans c3-c6 on the upper row and starts at 5; the red shutter occupies c1-c2 and starts at 5; the white right footprint occupies c7-c8 and starts at 4. The lower grid contains cyan, blue, green, purple, red, yellow and brown receivers, with a magenta cross and large green square appearing after the first release.
Goal
Lower the yellow and white shutters without opening a red cross-board plug, then route the central green, cyan and purple receivers through the middle and finish the magenta-cyan end phase.
Opening
At 3:05, work yellow in c3-c6 and white in c7-c8. Leave the red c1-c2 lane separate until the first two shutters have visibly changed.
Danger Zone
From about 2:05-1:10 the yellow shutter is open and the middle is crowded with green, cyan, purple, brown and blue receivers. A red piece across c2-c5 blocks both the left shutter lane and top feed. From 0:23-0:10, wait for the tiny magenta receiver to drain completely.
Mechanics
Three numbered shutter footprints gate different board regions. Yellow and white fall first, while the red side gate controls a separate release. The feed cycles through yellow, green, purple, blue-white and magenta with a settling pause after each full receiver.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which shutters should be handled first in Level 418?

Reduce the yellow top shutter and white right footprint first, while preserving the separate red left lane.

  • How should the middle be staged?

Use c3-c4 for cyan, c5-c6 for purple, and the outer lanes for brown verticals so the central feed remains open.

  • Why does the ending need a pause?

The final magenta receiver can retain a small visible percentage after the board looks clear; wait for the last grains before the cyan finish.
