Block Out level guide

Block Out Level 5 Walkthrough

medium 3 colors

Block Out Level 5 is a cramped checkerboard between two red columns. Strip the white pieces out through the right gate, let the black blocks collapse into a staircase for the lower-left exit, and save the last red column for the finish.

Board Notes

Layout
The board is a dense checkerboard of white and black mini-blocks framed by one tall red column on the left and another on the right. The red gate is on the left wall, the black gate is on the lower-left edge, and the white gate sits at the lower-right edge.
Goal
Use the right white exit to make space for a black staircase in the lower center, then drain that staircase through the black gate before the last red column travels to the left wall.
Opening
Start by feeding the lowest right-side white piece out through the white gate. Keep harvesting whites from that same edge while the black pieces settle downward.
Danger Zone
Touching a tall red column too early gives the checkerboard less room instead of more. Red is the finish piece, not the opener.
Mechanics
Level 5 is a compression puzzle. Each white exit creates the pocket that the next black piece needs in order to join the staircase.

Quick Tips for Block Out Level 5 (spoiler-free)

  • Think right-edge white cleanup first.
  • Black needs to form a staircase before the left gate is useful.
  • If the board feels stuck, look for the color with the cleanest path and use that to regain space.

How to Solve Block Out Level 5 — Full Solution

  1. Feed the lowest white piece on the right edge out through the white gate.
  2. Use the new pocket to peel the next white pieces toward the same exit instead of touching the tall red columns.
  3. Let the black pieces collapse into the lower-center staircase while the center rows are being cleared.
  4. Once most of the whites are gone, send the bottom black pieces left into the black gate and then pull the higher black square down into the same channel.
  5. Keep the red columns parked until the white exit and black gate are both finished with their traffic.
  6. Finish by running the remaining tall red column across the cleared top lane and out through the left red gate.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Sliding one of the tall red columns before the black staircase has formed.
  • Using the right-side white pocket for red movement instead of spending it on another white exit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the real first phase of Block Out Level 5?

The first phase is stripping white pieces out through the right gate. That is what creates the space for the black staircase.

  • When should the red column move in Level 5?

Move the last red column only after the white gate is clear and the black staircase has already drained through the black exit.
