Magic Sort Level 209 Walkthrough

expert Target: 56 moves 9 colors

Magic Sort Level 209 is a three-tier five-cork release board of twelve bottles — five corked release bottles on the top row (triggers green, red, blue, red, brown) and two pre-sorted full bottles at the bottom (green, yellow) that stay untouched. Peel the middle mixers into trigger lanes first, then walk the corks in order so each released color (green, purple, orange, green, blue) drops onto a prepared lane.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 209 — Full Solution

  1. Tap the middle-row empty buffer, then pour the blue top off the blue-yellow mixer into the buffer. Pour that blue onto the brown-pink mixer to start a blue lane and refill the buffer.
  2. Pour the now-exposed yellow off the blue-yellow mixer into the buffer, then bank that yellow as a clean yellow lane (or route it onto the bottom yellow if it accepts).
  3. Peel the red top off the red-brown mixer into the buffer, then pour that red onto the near-full red to start a red lane. Pour the brown below the red into the buffer to bank brown for cork 5's trigger.
  4. Peel the green from the bottom of the red mixer into the buffer to bank a green lane, then pour that green into cork 1 (top-left, green trigger) to release its hidden green. Route the released green onto the green lane to grow it.
  5. Build a second red lane from any leftover reds plus the pink under the brown-pink mixer, then pour red into cork 2 to release its purple, and pour red into cork 4 to release its green. Route purple onto a fresh purple lane and the second green onto the green lane.
  6. Pour the brown lane into cork 5 to release its blue, then pour the established blue lane into cork 3 to release its orange. Route the released blue onto a fresh blue lane and the orange onto a fresh orange lane.
  7. Top off green, yellow, red, blue, brown, purple, orange, pink and cyan so all twelve bottles end on a single color.

Colors in this level:

Blue, Yellow, Red, Brown, Green, Purple, Orange, Pink, Cyan

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring any color into a cork that does not match its marker, which seals the cork and wastes a buffer.
  • Pouring the released green from cork 1 back into cork 1 as if it were a second trigger, when in fact the green release is the output and should land on the green lane.
  • Trying to use a single red segment to trigger both cork 2 and cork 4, when the two red-trigger corks each need a full red pour to release their hidden color.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 209 (spoiler-free)

  • Build the green and red lanes first — corks 1, 2 and 4 all key off those two triggers.
  • Pour the two red-trigger corks (corks 2 and 4) back-to-back so a single full red lane can satisfy both.
  • Do not route the released green back into cork 1 — the green release is the output, not a second trigger.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
A three-tier board of twelve bottles with no wraps, boxes or magic, but five cork release bottles on the top row. Top row is five corked bottles tagged green, red, blue, red, brown (left to right). Middle row is five active bottles — a blue-on-top yellow-below mixer, a near-full red hiding a green layer at the bottom, an empty buffer (the tap-pour marker), a red-on-top brown-below mixer, and a brown-pink near-empty mixer. Bottom row is two pre-sorted full bottles (green, yellow) that do not move. One effective empty to start.
Goal
Earn every trigger color (green, red, blue, red, brown) in a real lane, trigger the five corks in an order that respects the shared red trigger and the double green release, then route the five released colors (green, purple, orange, green, blue) onto their own lanes until all twelve bottles hold a single color.
Opening
Tap the middle-row empty buffer, then pour the blue top off the blue-yellow mixer into the buffer. Pour that blue onto the brown-pink mixer to start a blue lane and refill the buffer. Pour the now-exposed yellow off the blue-yellow mixer into the buffer and bank it as a yellow lane.
Danger Zone
Pouring any color into a cork that does not match its marker (green, red, blue, red, brown) locks the cork and wastes a move. The two red-trigger corks (corks 2 and 4) cannot share a single red segment — you must pour a full red lane into one and a second full red into the other, otherwise the second red pour seals the cork. The bottom-row green and yellow are full and read-only, so do not try to use them as pour targets for green or yellow pours.
Mechanics
A pure five-cork release board with two corks sharing a red trigger and two corks releasing the same green. The puzzle is route planning — building five trigger lanes plus five release lanes inside twelve bottles, where the order in which you trigger the corks decides whether the green-release, the purple-release, the orange-release and the blue-release all have somewhere to land.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do the two red corks work in Magic Sort Level 209?

Corks 2 and 4 both carry a red marker, so each one only opens on a red pour. You need a full red lane in the buffer for cork 2, then build a second full red stack from leftover reds and pour it into cork 4. Each red pour releases a different hidden color (purple from cork 2, green from cork 4), so trigger them back-to-back before those released colors get stranded.

  • Why does cork 1 release green when its marker is also green in Level 209?

The marker shows the trigger color and the hidden layer is a second green. Pouring green into cork 1 pops the cork and the released green drops on top of your green lane, growing it. Do not pour the released green back into cork 1 — treat the release as output, not as a second trigger, or you will lock the cork.

  • Why is the bottom-row green bottle untouchable in Level 209?

The two bottom bottles (green and yellow) are pre-sorted and full at the start, and they stay that way through the whole solve. They are not pour targets. Route any green or yellow pours into a real lane you build in the middle row instead.
