Magic Sort Level 293 Walkthrough

hard Target: 34 moves 11 colors

Magic Sort Level 293 is a two-tier, twelve-bottle board that hides its real workload behind a three-cell wooden vault on the right of the bottom row. Bank brown, dark-cyan and cyan on the existing lanes first, then break the vault, pop the three revealed corks in any order, and route the released gray and the second dark-cyan onto the cleared lanes so all twelve positions finish on a single color.

How to Solve Magic Sort Level 293 — Full Solution

  1. Tap the bottom-left empty as the scratch flask. Peel the yellow top off T1 (yellow-orange) onto the B4 yellow so the yellow lane gets a top-up, then peel the orange top off T1 onto the near-empty B2 orange to start the orange lane.
  2. Peel the cyan water off the bottom of T2 (pink-red-cyan) and the bottom of T3 (purple-cyan) into the B1 empty so the teal is banked in one buffer. Pour the pink top of T2 onto its matching lane, and the red middle of T2 onto a clean slot to start the red lane.
  3. Peel the dark-cyan segment off the bottom of T4 (yellow-green-dark) and bank it on top of the teal in the B1 empty — this is the only dark-cyan source on the board and the dark-cyan cork trigger.
  4. Peel the yellow top of T4 and the green middle of T4 onto their matching lanes (B4 yellow and a clean green slot) so the T4 mixer is down to a single dark-cyan segment banked in B1.
  5. Pour the teal in B1 onto the wooden vault on the right of the bottom row — the padlock breaks, the vault splits, and three cork bottles appear in the right three columns (brown cork on the left, dark-cyan cork in the middle, cyan cork on the right).
  6. Pour the B1 dark-cyan onto the dark-cyan cork to pop it — the released color lands next to the cyan lane and the dark-cyan lane is sealed. Bank the brown from the cleaned-up T1 stack in a free buffer.
  7. Pour the banked brown onto the brown cork to pop it — the released gray is banked in the freed cork slot, then poured onto the B2 orange neighbor to start the gray lane.
  8. Pour the cyan from the B1 teal bank onto the cyan cork to pop it — the released color lands on the cyan lane, then top off brown, red, yellow, green, pink, blue, purple, orange, gray, dark-cyan, and cyan so all twelve positions end on a single color.

Colors in this level:

Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink, Cyan, Purple, Green, Dark-cyan, Blue, Brown, Gray

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Pouring the wrong color onto a cork (orange onto the brown cork, pink onto the dark-cyan cork, purple onto the cyan cork), which seals the cork shut for the rest of the puzzle and burns the trigger pour you needed to release that hidden color.
  • Breaking the wooden vault with the wrong color, which strands the three corks underneath the locked padlock and leaves brown, dark-cyan, and cyan with no way into play.
  • Peeling the dark-cyan off the bottom of T4 (yellow-green-dark) AFTER the vault breaks, by which point the only spare buffer (B1) is already occupied by the teal bank and the dark-cyan has nowhere to dock for its cork trigger.

Quick Tips for Magic Sort Level 293 (spoiler-free)

  • Bank brown, dark-cyan, and cyan in the left half of the bottom row BEFORE you touch the wooden vault, or the right three columns turn into three corks and you have no spare buffer left.
  • Peel the dark-cyan segment off the bottom of T4 (yellow-green-dark) right after the first few pours — T4 is the only dark-cyan source on the board and the dark-cyan cork trigger.
  • Peel the teal water off the bottom of T2 and T3 into the B1 empty before you start the pink and purple lanes, so the cyan cork has a teal trigger waiting in a single-color buffer.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
A two-tier board, six columns wide and twelve bottle positions. The top row holds six tall mixed bottles — yellow-orange, pink-red-cyan with a teal water base, purple-cyan with a teal water base, yellow-green-dark, a full single blue, and red-pink. The bottom row starts with one empty slot, a small near-empty orange, a small yellow-cyan two-color bottle, a small full yellow, and a large wooden vault box taking the right three columns. The vault has a tan cap peeking out of the top and a padlock icon in the middle. T4 yellow-green-dark is the only dark-cyan source on the board, and T2 and T3 both carry teal water that has to be peeled off before the pink and purple lanes can be cleaned.
Goal
Break the wooden vault with a matched pour to release three cork bottles in the right three columns of the bottom row (brown cork on the left, dark-cyan cork in the middle, cyan cork on the right), then pour brown, dark-cyan and cyan onto their matching corks to pop the "?" caps. Route the released gray and the second dark-cyan onto the existing lanes until all twelve positions end on a single color.
Opening
Tap the bottom-left empty as the scratch flask. Peel the yellow top off T1 (yellow-orange) onto the B4 yellow so the yellow lane gets a top-up, then peel the orange top off T1 onto the near-empty B2 orange. Peel the cyan water off the bottom of T2 and T3 into the B1 empty, then dock the pink top of T2 onto its matching lane and the red middle of T2 onto a clean slot. Peel the dark-cyan segment off the bottom of T4 into the B1 empty so the dark-cyan cork has its trigger waiting.
Danger Zone
Pouring the wrong color onto a cork seals it shut for the rest of the puzzle — the brown cork only opens on brown, the dark-cyan cork only on dark-cyan, the cyan cork only on cyan. The vault itself also only opens on the right color, so an early teal pour onto the padlock before the three trigger colors are banked strands the three corks underneath and loses the level. T4 yellow-green-dark is the only dark-cyan source on the board, so peeling the dark-cyan off its bottom before any cork trigger is the difference between a clean unlock and a deadlocked state. After the box breaks, the three corks occupy the right three columns of the bottom row and the only spare buffer is the B1 empty — once that is consumed by the dark-cyan bank, there is nowhere to stash a color that is not on its lane.
Mechanics
A two-tier, twelve-bottle board that fronts as a tidy sort but hides its real workload behind a single three-cell wooden vault. The vault unlocks on a matched pour, but it does not release a single color — it reveals three separate cork bottles in the right three columns, each cork hiding one extra color that only enters play when the matching trigger color is poured on top. The chokepoint is therefore three-stage: bank the three trigger colors (brown, dark-cyan, cyan) before the box break, pop the corks in any order with the matching pour, then route the released gray from the brown cork and the released dark-cyan from the cyan cork onto the existing lanes while keeping T4's dark-cyan as the single source for the dark-cyan trigger.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you open the wooden vault and the three corks underneath in Magic Sort Level 293?

Bank brown, dark-cyan, and cyan in the left half of the bottom row first, then pour the teal in B1 onto the wooden vault to break the padlock. The vault splits into three cork bottles in the right three columns of the bottom row. Pour brown onto the brown cork, dark-cyan onto the dark-cyan cork, and cyan onto the cyan cork to pop each "?" cap and release the hidden color. Pouring the wrong color onto any cork seals it shut and burns the trigger pour.

  • Why is T4 (yellow-green-dark) the only dark-cyan source on the board in Level 293?

The teal water at the bottom of T2 and T3 is cyan, not dark-cyan, so the only true dark-cyan segment on the board sits at the bottom of T4. Peel that dark-cyan off T4 into the B1 empty before the vault break, so the dark-cyan cork has its matching trigger waiting in a single-color buffer the moment the box opens.
