Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 385 Walkthrough

expert 8 colors

Level 385 packs six numbered obstacles onto one board, and every one of them ticks down by one each time any receiver clears: the top shutter 11, the ice cap 4, a movable pink block 6, the purple trays 5 and 15, and a crate hidden under the left tray. Feed the yellow slot early, work the blue L into the right corner to break tray 5, then use two clock receivers for extra time before the orange-then-white top feed finishes the board.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 385 — Full Solution

  1. At about 2:40 on the timer, let the yellow 1x3 at c1 r2-r4 fill from the yellow slot above it. It clears by 2:39 and the shutter drops to 10, the pink block to 5, the ice to 3 and the trays to 4 and 14.
  2. Drag the orange upright from c2 into c1 r3-r4, then move the small yellow cell into c1 r2 under the slot. At about 2:37 the shutter reads 9 and the ice 2; after one more small clear at about 2:34 it is 8, with the ice at 1 and tray 5 at 2.
  3. Around 2:27 the ice at c6 r1 melts, exposing blue sand from the right pipe. The counters now read 7 on the shutter, 2 on the pink block, 1 on tray 5 and 11 on tray 15.
  4. From about 2:25 to 1:53, shuffle the upper grid to bring the blue L to c5-c6 r2-r3 under the blue sand, sliding the pink block and the orange pieces down and left to make room. At about 1:52 the blue L shows 89%.
  5. At about 1:51 the blue L clears: tray 5 breaks open and the shutter drops to 6. The lower chamber now shows a brown 2x2, a blue upright, a green upright, a yellow receiver stamped 20 at c1, a crate marked 4 along the bottom and a magenta upright at c4.
  6. Keep clearing orange, magenta and small yellow pieces at the slots. By about 1:43 the shutter reads 4 and tray 15 reads 8; by about 1:30 they are at 3 and 7.
  7. At about 1:22 lift the yellow 20 receiver out of the lower chamber and drop it into the c1 lane right under the yellow slot. It clears at about 1:19 for +20 seconds (the clock jumps to 1:38); the shutter reads 1 and the crate 3.
  8. The second yellow clock receiver, stamped 10, waits at c1 in the lower chamber at about 1:26. Lift it straight up to the yellow slot; it clears at about 1:25, the timer gains 10 seconds and the shutter breaks, exposing orange sand above c3-c4.
  9. Catch the orange with an orange upright at c4 r1-r2 (full at about 1:23). Tray 15 opens at about 1:21, revealing a white upright and an ice cap marked 1 in front of the pink pipe; the next clear at about 1:16 melts it and exposes pink sand at c6.
  10. From about 1:13 to 0:39, feed magenta pieces to the pink slot at c6, yellow and then green pieces to the left slot, and orange pieces (including the brown 2x2) under the top feed. The top layer turns white after the last orange at about 0:44, and the pink slot runs dry at about 0:39.
  11. At about 0:38 catch the last blue sand with a blue bar beside the right slot; the right pipe then runs purple. Fill the purple Ls against it; the last one reaches 100% at about 0:34, the crate hits 0 and releases a white L stamped 10.
  12. Place the white L under the top feed at c4-c5 r1-r2; it clears at about 0:32 for +10 seconds. Move the last white upright from c1 into c4 r1-r2, and when it clears at about 0:41 the board is empty.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using c1 r2 as a parking spot. It is the only landing cell under the yellow slot, and blocking it stops the fastest clears in the level.
  • Burying the c5-c6 r2-r3 corner. With the ice gone, the blue L belongs there, and tray 5 (sitting at 1) opens on that clear.
  • Wasting the yellow clock receivers on the lower chamber. They are yellow receivers, so they only fill at the yellow slot, and together they add 30 seconds.
  • Leaving a non-orange piece under the top feed when the shutter breaks, which spills the orange layer instead of catching it.

Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 385 (quick clues)

  • Every clear anywhere lowers every number on the board, so fast small clears matter more than big ones.
  • The yellow slot at c1 r1 refills from the side pipe; keep c1 r2 free as a landing spot for yellow pieces.
  • Clear the yellow 20 clock and the yellow 10 clock at the yellow slot; they add time, and the second one breaks the top shutter.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Six columns. Row 1 holds a yellow sand slot at c1 fed by the left yellow pipe, a peach top shutter marked 11 above c3-c4, a pink checkered block marked 6 at c5-c6 and an ice cap marked 4 at c6 in front of the right blue pipe. Rows 1-5 are packed with 0% receivers: a yellow 1x3 at c1 r2-r4 directly under the yellow slot, orange uprights at c2 and c6, a magenta L at c3-c4, a blue L and a dark purple L in the middle, green bars on the right and small yellow/magenta bars in row 5. A large purple tray marked 5 covers c1-c3 below row 5, and a smaller tray marked 15 sits at c4-c6 in front of the lower-right pink pipe.
Goal
Keep clearing receivers so the shared counters fall: tray 5 opens a lower chamber with a 20-second clock receiver and a crate marked 4, the shutter at 0 releases the top feed (orange first, then white), and tray 15 at 0 opens the pink slot. The last piece is a white receiver caught under the top feed.
Opening
The yellow 1x3 at c1 r2-r4 fills from the slot above it and clears almost at once, taking every counter down by one (shutter 10, ice 3, trays 4 and 14). Park the orange upright from c2 at c1 r3-r4 out of the way and feed the small yellow cell through c1 r2 next; by about 2:33 on the timer the shutter reads 8 and the ice reads 1.
Danger Zone
After the ice melts at c6 r1 the counters stall at 7/1/11 for about half a minute while the board is reshuffled; that is the tight spot. The next clear is the blue L at c5-c6 r2-r3 under the blue sand, so do not bury that corner with green or orange pieces. Later, the pink block must not be parked in the lane between the blue corner and the lower trays.
Mechanics
Global clear counters on six obstacles, a yellow side slot, a blue side slot behind an ice cap, a layered top feed (orange sand behind the shutter, then white), a pink lower-right slot behind tray 15 and its own ice cap, and two clock receivers (+20 and +10 seconds) plus a white +10 clock released from the crate.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do the numbers on Level 385 count?

They all count receiver clears. Each time any receiver reaches 100% and disappears, the shutter, the ice cap, the pink block, both trays and the crate each drop by one.

  • Why does nothing happen for so long after the ice melts?

Right after the melt the grid is jammed and the next clear is the blue L in the upper-right corner, so all the counters hold at 7, 1 and 11 while you rearrange pieces to get it there.

  • What is the last receiver?

A white upright placed under the top feed at c4 r1-r2, after the white L from the crate has cleared.
