Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 403 Walkthrough

expert 7 colors

Level 403 carries the game's Hard label and uses a tall split board with several counted purple covers. The opening is a tight left-panel sequence under cyan and red pipes. Those clears open the wide middle and lower covers, after which the larger red, yellow, white, green and orange receivers must cross the centre in the right order.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 403 — Full Solution

  1. After the Hard Level overlay, start at about 3:03 with the small receivers in the left upper chamber. Feed cyan from the left pipe and red from the centre pipe while keeping the right board untouched.
  2. Clear the small yellow, white, green and purple receivers in the left stack. These clears drop the top-left count from 3 to 1 by about 3:11 and reduce the wide middle cover from 6.
  3. Around 2:58-2:42, keep shuttling receivers under the red and cyan pipes. The upper-right cover and the wide middle cover tick down together, and the first larger green and yellow receivers become movable.
  4. At about 2:37 the wide cover is down to 2, and by about 2:34 it is nearly open. Use the red bar and yellow L to keep the count moving without trapping the white L against the right wall.
  5. Once the middle opens, slide the white L through the centre and begin staging the right side. The lower covers are now accessible, and yellow receivers can use the left-bottom side pipe while green receivers wait near the right-bottom pipe.
  6. Between about 1:48 and 1:33, move the large red L and the yellow L-shapes through the top-right and centre lanes. Do not park them across the middle bridge longer than needed.
  7. From about 1:25 to 1:10, use the white L and white bar along the right-side white pipe, then bring the green and yellow receivers into the lower channels as the numbered covers disappear.
  8. Around 1:08-0:58, the board is mostly open. Clear the remaining green and red pieces, then start placing the orange bars and L-shapes beneath the red/orange feed path.
  9. Finish the last white, red, orange and yellow receivers from about 0:52 to 0:37. The final yellow receiver clears just before the Sand Blocks completion animation at about 0:35.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Letting a large L-shape sit across the centre bridge. The bridge is needed by the white L and later green pieces.
  • Ignoring the small left-panel pieces early. They are what reduce the counted covers quickly enough.
  • Assuming the Hard label comes from one tricky move. The real difficulty is the split-board routing and late centre-lane congestion.

Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 403 (quick clues)

  • Use the small left-panel pieces first; they are the fastest way to remove the early counts.
  • Keep the centre bridge open whenever a large red or yellow L is not actively filling.
  • Move the white L across before the yellow L-shapes settle in the middle.
  • Save enough room near the right wall for the late green and white receivers.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Tall split board using local columns c1-c3 on the left and c4-c6 on the right, with a centre bridge at c3-c4. The left panel has cyan/purple and red top pipes, a yellow side pipe near the bottom, and a compact stack of cyan, yellow, white, purple, red and green receivers. The right panel has a white vertical pipe and a lower green pipe. Visible counted covers include a left top strip marked 3, an upper-right cover marked 4, a wide middle cover marked 6, a lower-left cover marked 1 and a lower-right cover marked 4.
Goal
Use quick left-panel clears to reduce the global counts, open the wide middle cover, then move the large red, yellow, white, green and orange receivers through the centre before they block each other.
Opening
After the Hard Level overlay, the first active moves are small receivers on the left panel: a green vertical footprint at left c1 across r2-r4, a white corner at left c3 across r3-r4, then red/yellow bars across left c1-c3 and purple squares at the bridge. Cyan and red pieces clear under the top pipes, dropping the left top count from 3 to 2 by about 3:23 and to 1 by about 3:11 while the wide middle count also falls. Wait for each 100% clear and the resulting sand settle before the next bridge move.
Danger Zone
The centre bridge at c3-c4 is the level's choke point. A red or yellow L footprint spanning c3-c4 across r4-r5 can stay across it before the white L and green pieces have crossed, making the right-side white and green pipes unreachable.
Mechanics
Multiple counted covers shrink from receiver clears and open the board in waves. The level then becomes a split-feed route: left-side cyan/red/yellow feeds provide the first clears, while right-side white and green feeds remain necessary for the late large shapes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why is Level 403 labelled Hard?

The board has several counted covers and two separate panels. The hard part is opening the covers while keeping a route between the left and right feeds.

  • What should stay open during the middle phase?

The centre bridge. The white L, yellow L-shapes and later green pieces all need that passage, so large red or yellow receivers should not sit there unless they are actively filling.

  • Which colours finish the level?

The last visible clears are white, red, orange and yellow receivers, with the final yellow piece clearing just before the completion animation around 0:35.
