Sand Blocks level guide
Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 401 Walkthrough
Level 401 opens with two counted covers stacked above a cramped lower pocket. The brown cover marked 5 must be lowered with small white, brown, yellow and magenta receivers before the blue cover marked 4 can be solved. Once both covers are gone, the level turns into a compact cyan-and-green top-pipe finish.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 401 — Full Solution
- At 4:00, clear the first small white and brown receivers touching the side pipes. These early clears drop the brown shutter from 5 to 4, then to 3 by about 3:57.
- Keep the yellow bar under the left stream and move the next white square into the right side of the pocket. Around 3:47 the white receiver clears and the brown shutter remains at 3.
- Use the magenta vertical under the right outlet while there is still room in the bottom pocket. By about 3:37 the brown shutter reaches 1, and the last magenta/brown clears remove it at about 3:36.
- When the lower lane opens, move the cyan-blue bar and the orange and red pieces into the exposed row. The blue shutter drops to 3 at about 3:30, to 2 by about 3:27, and to 1 by about 3:24.
- Finish the red and blue receivers under the side pipes. The blue cover is gone at about 3:15, revealing the compact top chamber.
- In the final chamber, route cyan receivers under the left pipe and green receivers under the right pipe. Work from the outer receivers inward, clearing the tall green bars and small green squares first so the cyan vertical can slide to the left stream.
- The last cyan and green receivers clear between about 2:42 and 2:34. The board empties and the Sand Blocks completion screen appears with about 2:34 on the timer.
Colors in this level:
White, Brown, Yellow, Magenta, Blue, Orange, Red, Cyan, Green
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Trying to work on green pieces before the blue shutter opens. The green phase does not exist until the final chamber is revealed.
- Leaving the magenta vertical boxed in at the bottom after 3:37. It blocks the middle lane exactly when the blue/orange/red phase needs that space.
- Moving tall green bars before the small green squares in the final chamber, which closes the only route for the cyan vertical.
Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 401 (quick clues)
- Clear the small white and brown receivers before trying to move the yellow bar.
- Use the magenta vertical while there is still space in the lower pocket.
- When the brown cover opens, focus on blue, orange and red receivers; green is not active yet.
- In the final chamber, work green and cyan receivers from the outside inward so the tall pieces can slide into the pipes.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- Five-column board. At the top is a blue shutter marked 4, fed by two vertical pipes. A brown shutter marked 5 sits directly below it. In the exposed lower pocket, the yellow bar spans r2 c4-c5, the magenta vertical occupies r2-r4 c3, white/grey squares sit at r2c1, r3c2 and r3c5, brown squares sit at r2c2, r3c4 and r4c5, and a white horizontal receiver spans r4 c2-c3 beside the left white pipe and right brown/magenta outlet.
- Goal
- Open the brown shutter first, then use the exposed blue/orange/red pieces to tick down the blue shutter. The final room is solved by matching cyan receivers to the left top pipe and green receivers to the right top pipe.
- Opening
- The first clears come from receivers already near the side pipes. Small white and brown pieces reduce the brown count from 5 to 3 by about 3:57, then the yellow bar and a white square keep the shutter moving toward 1 by about 3:37. Wait for the board to settle after each 100% clear before committing the next drag.
- Danger Zone
- Do not trap the magenta vertical footprint at r2-r4 c3 in the bottom pocket after the brown shutter reaches 1. It needs to escape before the midgame pieces arrive, or it blocks the central lane used by the blue and orange receivers.
- Mechanics
- Two counted shutters open in sequence. The early side-pipe pocket reduces the brown cover, the middle blue/orange/red receivers reduce the blue cover, and the last phase is a separate cyan/green chamber under two top pipes.
