Sand Blocks level guide
Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 402 Walkthrough
Level 402 starts with three covers visible at once: a white cover marked 6, a green lower-left cover marked 3 and a magenta lower-right cover marked 5. Early green, yellow and white receiver clears from the top hopper open the board, then the route switches to a dual-feed finish with the right magenta tray and the top white-to-brown pipe.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 402 — Full Solution
- At 2:20, place the first tall green receiver under the top hopper. It clears as the green cover drops from 3, then another green receiver is moved in around 2:17.
- Continue feeding the top hopper with green, yellow and white receivers. By about 2:12 the top pipe has shown yellow, and by about 2:01 a white square clear has the white shutter down to 3.
- Once the lower-left green cover opens, use the white L and small purple receivers in the exposed left lane to keep the counts moving. Do not block the route below the hopper with the large white L.
- Between about 1:42 and 1:34, pull blue bars and orange L pieces into the open middle. The white shutter reaches 4 at 1:34, then continues dropping as small magenta and blue receivers clear.
- At about 1:23, the lower-right magenta chamber opens. Move the pink/magenta square and bar under the right tray while keeping the orange L-shapes parked along the upper and side lanes.
- From 1:17 to 1:03, shuttle the blue bars and purple square around the centre so each can touch its matching source. The large white L stays in the lower-left as a late receiver under the top pipe.
- Around 0:39, the top pipe turns brown. Use the white L first while white is still available, then switch to brown/orange receivers: the tall orange vertical, the two orange L-shapes and the long orange bar.
- The final pink bar clears from the right tray at about 0:17, leaving the board empty and triggering the Sand Blocks finish screen.

Green, Yellow, White, Magenta, Purple, Blue, Orange, Brown
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Waiting beside the magenta cover at the start. The cover only matters after top-pipe clears have opened the right side.
- Blocking the top hopper with the large white L before the early green/yellow/white pieces are gone.
- Letting orange L pieces occupy the centre after the right tray opens, which prevents magenta and blue receivers from reaching their sources.
Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 402 (quick clues)
- Use the tall green receivers immediately while the top pipe is green.
- Do not block the hopper with the large white L; it is a late receiver, not the opening move.
- When the right tray appears, park magenta pieces near it but keep orange L pieces in the central lanes.
- Switch to orange and brown receivers as soon as the top pipe changes near the last forty seconds.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- The upper-left pocket is a five-column area under one top pipe. The yellow bar spans r1 c1-c3; green uprights occupy r2-r4 c1 and r2-r4 c3; yellow squares sit at r3c2, r5c1 and r5c3; white/grey squares sit at r2c2, r4c1 and r4c3; and a green vertical receiver occupies r4-r6 c2. The right side is hidden behind a white shutter marked 6, with a green cover marked 3 below left and a magenta cover marked 5 below right.
- Goal
- Use the top hopper to open the green and white covers, then expose the right tray and the lower magenta chamber. The finish requires orange L-shapes and bars from the top pipe while magenta and purple pieces are filled from the side tray.
- Opening
- A tall green receiver is placed under the top hopper around 2:17, followed by more green and yellow receivers. By about 2:12 the pipe shows yellow, and a white square clear around 2:01 has the white cover down to 3. Wait for the hopper to settle after each 100% clear so the next tall receiver does not seal the centre.
- Danger Zone
- Waiting for the magenta chamber too early wastes the top-pipe window. The right tray cannot solve the board until the white shutter opens, and the large white L footprint across r5-r7 c1-c3 can seal the hopper, so the opening must keep clearing green, yellow and white pieces from the top feed.
- Mechanics
- Three covers overlap. Receiver clears open the green lower-left chamber, then the white right-side shutter, then the magenta lower-right chamber. After that, the board uses two feeds at once: top pipe for white/brown/orange pieces and right tray for magenta pieces.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I clear first in Level 402?
Clear the top-hopper pieces first, especially the tall green receivers, then the yellow and white receivers that reduce the counted covers.
When does the magenta side tray become useful?
After the right-side white cover has opened. The tray handles the magenta and purple pieces during the second half of the level.
What finishes the level?
The final sequence uses the top pipe for brown/orange pieces and the right tray for the last magenta bar, which clears at about 0:17.
