Sand Blocks level guide
Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 400 Walkthrough
Level 400 runs on a 2:55 timer and finishes with barely two seconds left. A shared chamber across the top starts full of red over blue, and two side pipes add green and brown at the corners. The two boxes marked 3 and 4 along the bottom are crates, not counters. They only open once the star blocks sitting on them are gone, and they supply the big brown and blue tanks the last loads need.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 400 — Full Solution
- At about 2:55 on the timer, the red bar at the right end of the top row is at 74%. It clears at about 2:54, and a small red block is pushed up into its place.
- At about 2:52 a blue bar in the top-left row is at 80% and clears. A red upright in column 2 reaches 45% at 2:51 and clears as the red layer thins.
- At about 2:48 slide a blue upright into the top of column 2, under the edge of the blue pile. It climbs from 13% to 100% by about 2:43.
- Between about 2:41 and 2:35, lift a red bar to the top-left row (51% at 2:39, 76% at 2:38) and a second red bar to the top-right row (71% at 2:35). By about 2:34 the red is gone and the chamber shows blue in the middle, green on the left and brown on the right.
- At about 2:22 push a green bar under the left corner; it is at 11% and clears a second later.
- From about 2:13 to 2:01, shuffle the white, black and brown uprights so the brown upright reaches column 6 under the right corner. It fills from 26% at about 2:01 to 100% at 2:00, and the red striped tail shortens.
- Between about 1:58 and 1:22, clear space along the left side and lift the large green square up to columns 1-3 at the top. It fills from the green pipe at about 1:21 and clears at about 1:20. The green star block and its tail disappear, and the left pipe runs dry.
- At about 1:08, drag the white upright out of the left crate (badge 2), then the purple upright (badge 1), and at about 1:06 the brown square. The left crate is gone.
- Clear room along the right, then move the brown square up to columns 4-6 under the right corner. It is at 19% at about 0:52, 61% at 0:51 and 100% at 0:50. The red star block and its tail are gone at about 0:49, and the brown pipe is empty.
- At about 0:43 open the right crate: a purple bar (badge 3), a black bar at 0:42 (badge 2), a purple L at 0:41 (badge 1) and finally the blue square. Stack the purple and black pieces in the upper rows.
- At about 0:24 lift the blue square to columns 4-6 at the top. It takes the middle blue pile and is at 91% by about 0:20. The middle pipe turns purple at about 0:21; a purple bar is at 67% at 0:20 and clears at 0:19, and the purple L is full at about 0:17.
- The middle pipe switches to white. Feed the white uprights and bars under it; one is full at about 0:11 and the next at about 0:09.
- At about 0:06 the pipe turns black. A black bar is full at 0:06, a small black block at 0:05, a black upright at 0:04, and the last black upright goes from 59% at 0:03 to clear at about 0:02.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Reading the 3 and 4 on the bottom boxes as counters to wait out. They are crates that hand out pieces, and neither gives out a piece while a star block still sits on top of it.
- Using the large green square anywhere except under the left corner. It is the only green receiver big enough for that pile, and the left crate stays shut until the green star block goes right after it clears.
- Wasting seconds at the end. The white and black loads come in quick succession after 0:17, and this level ends with about two seconds on the clock.
Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 400 (quick clues)
- Finish the red layer before anything else. Until it is gone the green and brown corners are buried.
- Fill the large green square under the left corner as soon as the green pile is ready. The green star block over the left crate disappears right after that clear.
- Take the brown square out of the left crate and park it under the right corner. The red star block over the right crate is gone right after it clears.
- Hold the blue square from the right crate for the middle pile. It holds most of the blue, which has sat untouched in the middle since the opening.
Board notes 5 details
- Layout
- Six columns wide. A blue pipe drops into a shared chamber that spans the whole top edge; a green pipe enters its left end and a brown pipe its right end. At the start the chamber holds a red layer over blue. The board is packed with red bars and uprights, blue bars, a brown upright, black and white pieces, green bars and a large green square on the right. Across the second-to-last row sit two star blocks, green on the left and dark red on the right, each with a striped tail. Two purple crates fill the bottom row: the left one is marked 3 with a white piece showing, the right one is marked 4 with a purple piece showing.
- Goal
- Clear the red first, then take green from the left corner and brown from the right, and keep the blue pile in the middle for the late blue tank. The crates supply the brown square, the blue square and the purple pieces. After blue, the middle pipe runs purple, white and finally black.
- Opening
- The red bar under the right end of the chamber is already filling at the start and clears at about 2:54. A blue bar and a red upright follow at about 2:51, and a blue upright fills from 13% at 2:48 to 100% at 2:43. Two more red bars finish the red by about 2:34, which leaves blue in the middle, green in the left corner and brown in the right.
- Danger Zone
- The green star block sits right on top of the left crate and the red star block on top of the right crate. Pieces only start coming out of each crate after the star block above it has disappeared. The green one only goes after the big green square clears at about 1:20, and the red one only after the brown square from the left crate clears at about 0:50, so spending those two tanks late delays everything below.
- Mechanics
- A shared top chamber sorts its sand into a middle pile and two corner piles, each reached only by receivers placed right under it. The two side pipes run out after one load each. Crates release pieces one at a time as you drag them out: the left crate gives a white upright, a purple upright and a brown square; the right crate gives a purple bar, a black bar, a purple L and a blue square. The star blocks with striped tails shrink as the level goes on and vanish in the order described above.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the purple boxes marked 3 and 4 at the bottom?
They are crates. Each number is how many pieces are left inside. Drag the visible piece out and the badge drops by one. The left crate holds a white upright, a purple upright and a brown square; the right one holds a purple bar, a black bar, a purple L and a blue square.
Why can't I use the crates at the start?
A star block with a striped tail sits on top of each crate. The green one was gone right after the big green square cleared at about 1:20, and the red one right after the brown square cleared at about 0:50. Only then did pieces come out.
Where does all the blue go?
The blue pile stays in the middle of the top chamber for most of the level. Apart from a few early blue bars, it is taken by the blue square from the right crate at about 0:20 on the timer.
