Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle Level 423 Walkthrough

hard 10 colors

Level 423 begins with a cyan shutter marked 2 above a yellow shutter marked 3, plus side release counters 4 and 18. Clear the exposed pocket to open both gates, then keep the centre clear while three key receivers feed the green lock before the final red and brown pieces finish the board.

How to Solve Sand Blocks Level 423 — Full Solution

  1. Start by clearing the small blue/yellow/white receivers nearest the left wall. Use the landing cells around r3c1, r4c1 and r3-r4c2 so the visible side strips drop toward 2 and 16.
  2. Keep the black key-marked receiver around r3c3-c4 and the green square at r3c4 accessible. Do not use the long white vertical as a centre plug.
  3. Fill the green square and orange square around r3c4-r3c5, then the red vertical around r4-r5c5. These small clears reduce the yellow shutter from 3 to 1.
  4. Use the right yellow wedge and white side receiver at c7 only after the red vertical has left the narrow pocket. This keeps the yellow shutter's last clear from being blocked by a full-height piece.
  5. Finish the last yellow-shutter clear and wait for the lower shutter to disappear. When the upper cyan shutter reaches 1, stage the blue and white pieces in the open middle rows instead of returning them to the closed top.
  6. After the top shutter opens, route the long blue L to the right catch footprint around r4-r5,c6-c7 and keep the tall white receiver on the left lane. This leaves a clear path to the green lock.
  7. Feed the key-marked white/black receivers one at a time from the reachable side pipes. Let each receiver reach 100%; the released key flies automatically to the green lock marked 3.
  8. Clear the green square and green L around the lower-left/middle cells, using landing footprints around r7-r9,c2-c4. Keep the lock-side cells open until all three key animations finish.
  9. In the late phase, finish the remaining green and blue pieces and leave the small red verticals in their side lanes. When the pipe changes to red, move the red vertical into the upper-left catch lane around r2-r4,c1-c2.
  10. Use the final white and brown pieces in the open centre/right cells. Let the last red vertical finish filling rather than dragging it again; its clear empties the board.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Waiting for either shutter to open by time. Both are receiver-clear gates.
  • Parking a tall white or red vertical across r4-r6,c3-c5 and blocking the key chain.
  • Moving the last red vertical away while it is already filling.

Quick Tips for Sand Blocks Level 423 (quick clues)

  • Use the small yellow, white, green and orange receivers before moving the long central pieces.
  • Do not treat the cyan/yellow shutters as sand tanks; they open only when their receiver-clear counts reach zero.
  • Leave a clean path from the key-marked receivers to the green lock, then let the late red vertical finish in place.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
A seven-column board with a full-width cyan shutter marked 2 over a full-width yellow shutter marked 3. The left wall shows release strips at 4 and 18. The exposed pocket contains a blue square at r3c1, yellow square at r4c1, tall white vertical at r3-r4c2, black key-marked receiver around r3c3-c4, green square at r3c4, orange square at r3c5, white square at r3c6, red vertical around r4-r5c5, a pink bar with a 1 badge around r5c3-c4 and yellow/white receivers along c7.
Goal
Use the small pocket receivers to reduce the yellow shutter and then the cyan shutter. After both gates open, route green and blue pieces around the central green lock marked 3, fill key-marked receivers so their keys fly to the lock, and finish the red/white/brown stream.
Opening
At the start the cyan shutter reads 2, the yellow shutter reads 3, and the side strips read 4 and 18. Small left-side clears move the strips toward 2 and 16; yellow/white/green/orange clears then reduce the lower shutter to 1.
Danger Zone
Keep the black key receiver, green lock and centre cells r4-r6,c3-c5 accessible. A tall white receiver or red vertical parked across this throat blocks the key receivers and prevents the green lock from taking all three keys.
Mechanics
Two receiver-clear shutters gate the board. Side release strips count hidden pieces, while the green lock marked 3 needs three keys released by key-marked receivers. Each key flies to the lock automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do the 4 and 18 on the left count?

They are release progress badges for the side containers. The early small clears move the visible values toward 2 and 16; they are not the level timer.

  • How does the green lock marked 3 open?

Fill the key-marked receivers. Each one releases a key that flies to the lock automatically; keep the centre lane open while the keys arrive.

  • What finishes Level 423?

The last red vertical. Leave it in place while it fills from the red pipe; once it clears, the board is empty.
