What is Wool Crush?

Wool Crush is a yarn-sorting puzzle developed by Astrasen PTE. LTD. and available on iOS and Android. Each board is a cluster of color-blocks marked with directional arrows, and the goal is to tap matching colors in the right order to unravel a yarn dragon, rescue a trapped animal such as a kitten, dog, or bird, and clear the board before the spool bar at the bottom overflows. Level 1 already introduces the rule that trips up new players most: directional arrow locking means a block can look open while its travel path is still physically blocked, so matching colors alone is not enough.

The board shapes and obstacles change well before the difficulty label does. Of the 305 levels LevelSolve currently covers, 50 are rated easy (levels 1-50), 150 medium (levels 51-200), and 105 hard (levels 201-305). Rectangular and butterfly-shaped boards give way to 3D overlapping hidden layers by Level 10, where the useful arrows stay hidden until the outer shell is peeled away in order. By Level 76 the spool slot bar becomes the real threat, triggering a 'Need to unlock more slots' warning when too many colors sit active at once. Level 229 adds a numbered silver counter block that has to be hit repeatedly to break, plus track ice that only clears when the right color reaches it, and by Level 280 the board shifts to a one-way clockwise loop where colors have to be fed in a specific order or they orbit the loop without pulling free.

LevelSolve has a published walkthrough for 305 of Wool Crush's 800 total levels. Each guide breaks down the board layout, names the rescue target, calls out the moment where the spool bar is most likely to jam, and lists the opening tap order, with a video guide included wherever a matching one exists.

How to Play Wool Crush

These tips apply across all Wool Crush levels. For level-specific advice, open any walkthrough from the range browser above.

  • Check a block's arrow before assuming it is playable. Directional arrow locking means a block can look open while its travel path is still physically blocked by another block.
  • On boards with 3D overlapping hidden layers, clear the outer shell first. The color you actually need is often hidden underneath and only appears once the top layer is peeled away.
  • Watch the spool slot bar, not just the board. A 'Need to unlock more slots' warning means you should finish an existing color immediately rather than start a new match.
  • When two routes look equally possible, take the one that removes an outer blocker first. Revealing new arrows is almost always stronger than forcing a speculative match deeper in the pile.
  • Numbered silver counter blocks, like the 9-count box in Level 229, do not clear on their own. They need repeated hits from the blocks around them, so keep feeding nearby matches instead of ignoring them.
  • Track ice and similar path obstacles usually need a specific color delivered to that spot, not just any match, so identify which color the blocked path needs before spending moves elsewhere.
  • On one-way loop boards, feed colors in the documented outside-in order rather than clearing whatever is closest. Colors sent out of sequence orbit the loop without pulling free and clog the whole board.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How many levels does Wool Crush have?

Wool Crush has up to 800 levels planned. LevelSolve currently publishes walkthroughs for levels 1 through 305, each with a board breakdown, rescue target, and step-by-step tap order.

  • How difficult are the Wool Crush levels on LevelSolve?

Of the 305 published levels, 50 are rated easy (levels 1-50), 150 medium (levels 51-200), and 105 hard (levels 201-305). Harder late-game boards, including one-way loop layouts with timed color sequencing, start appearing from level 201 onward.

  • Is Wool Crush free to play?

Wool Crush is free to download on both iOS and Android. Like most match puzzle games, it may include optional in-app purchases such as extra moves or slot unlocks.

  • Are these Wool Crush walkthroughs official?

No. Wool Crush - Yarn Color Sort belongs to Astrasen PTE. LTD. LevelSolve is an unofficial fan guide.

  • What does directional arrow locking mean in Wool Crush?

Each block carries an arrow showing which direction it needs to travel to clear. A block can look available because its color matches an active spool, but if another block still sits in its travel path, it stays locked until that path opens, so checking the arrow direction matters as much as checking the color.

  • What happens if the spool slot bar fills up in Wool Crush?

When too many different colors are active at once, the game shows a 'Need to unlock more slots' warning and the board is close to jamming. The fix is the same across walkthroughs: finish one of the active colors immediately to free a slot rather than starting a new match.
