Block Out Level 97 Walkthrough

hard 6 colors

Block Out Level 97 stacks two horizontal frames packed with colored blocks. The upper frame holds a yellow block, blue borders, large red blocks, and padlocked orange/yellow pieces (padlock `5`). The lower frame is twice as dense with large red and green blocks, blue, orange, purple, and padlocked yellow pieces. Work both frames in alternation — clear non-padlocked edge blocks to unlock the padlock `5` gates in each frame, then feed the large pieces through.

How to Solve Block Out Level 97 — Full Solution

  1. Upper frame: slide the blue border block on the far right through the right-wall exit, then push the yellow block on the far left through the left-wall exit (02:24–02:20 in the video).
  2. Lower frame: clear the orange and purple blocks on the far right through the right-wall exit — they are closest and not padlocked (02:20–02:15).
  3. Upper frame: clear the large red blocks in the center-left through the left-wall exit — each removal counts toward the upper padlock `5` unlock (02:15–02:06).
  4. Upper frame padlocks now open: clear the orange and yellow padlocked blocks from the center through the right exit (02:06).
  5. Lower frame: clear non-padlocked blue and red blocks from the center to count toward the lower padlock `5` threshold (02:01–01:52).
  6. Lower frame padlocks now open: clear the yellow padlocked blocks on the far left through the left-wall exit (01:52).
  7. Feed the large green block in the lower center through the bottom exit — it takes several passes and needs the center path clear (01:47–01:38).
  8. Finish with the remaining small blocks from both frames through the nearest exits (01:38–01:33).

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Clearing red blocks in the upper frame before planning the padlocked blocks' exit route — once the surrounding space fills with lower-frame spill, the padlocked blocks have nowhere to go.
  • Treating the padlock counters as shared — clearing five upper-frame blocks does not unlock lower-frame padlocks, so working only one frame at a time wastes moves.

Quick Tips for Block Out Level 97 (spoiler-free)

  • Padlock `5` counters are per-frame — clearing upper blocks only unlocks upper padlocks, not lower ones.
  • Start with the non-padlocked edge blocks in both frames to build toward the five-clear unlock threshold.
  • Feed the large green block in the lower center last — it blocks the center path and needs the most room.
Board notes 5 details
Layout
Two wide horizontal frames stacked vertically. Upper frame (shorter): a yellow block on the far left, blue border blocks on left and right edges, large red blocks in the center-left, and orange/yellow blocks with padlock `5` icons in the center. Lower frame (taller, twice as packed): yellow blocks with padlock `5` icons on the far left, large red blocks in the center-left, a large green block dominating the center, blue blocks, and orange/purple blocks on the right side. Exits: left arrows on the left wall (both frames), right arrows (blue) on the right wall (both frames), down arrows (red) at the bottom edge.
Goal
Both frames must be fully emptied. Padlock `5` icons mean those blocks stay locked until five other blocks from the same frame are cleared. The lower frame has more blocks and more padlocks, making it the longer phase. The large green block in the lower center takes several passes and blocks the center path.
Opening
Upper frame first: slide the blue border block on the far right through the right-wall exit, then push the yellow block on the far left through the left-wall exit (02:24–02:20). This opens space around the central red blocks. Lower frame: start clearing the orange and purple blocks on the far right through the right-wall exit — they are not padlocked and closest to the exit (02:20–02:15).
Danger Zone
At 02:06 the upper padlocks should be unlocked (five upper blocks cleared). If the red blocks were cleared before the padlocked pieces, the padlocked blocks may have no exit route. At 01:52 the lower frame's right side is open but the padlocked yellow blocks on the left are still locked — five lower-frame blocks must be cleared first.
Mechanics
A dual-frame padlock puzzle. Unlike most dual-section levels, Level 97 requires working both frames in alternation because the padlock `5` counters in each frame are independent. The upper frame is smaller but its padlocked blocks become hard to route once the lower frame spills. The large green block in the lower center is the biggest single piece and gates the center path.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I work both frames at the same time in Block Out Level 97?

Yes, and you should. The padlock `5` counters are independent per frame, so you need to clear five blocks from each frame separately. Alternating between frames is faster than finishing one before starting the other.

  • What is the large green block in the lower frame of Level 97?

It is the biggest single piece in the level, dominating the center of the lower frame. It takes several passes through the bottom exit and blocks the center path, so clear the smaller blocks around it first.
